Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

One Lord one faith one baptism.

The thief on the cross misconceptions

Yes! That's what ONE scripture says. Ignor the rest that add more. Erase the rest of the scriptures that say something additional is required. Goodbye, you don't know what you're talking about.

The thief on the cross misconceptions

Scripture doesn't teach believing is all that's required, unless you choose to ignor other scriptures. These are your words and thoughts that have no biblical foundation.

The thief on the cross misconceptions

You've got it a bit backwards. Obedience comes first, which leads you to obey the commands afterwhich you can attain your salvation or on the case of Abraham, be counted as righteousness. Obedience is NOT evidence of salvation. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:15)...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

Neither I nor the bible says obedience saves, but the bible makes it clear that obedience is necessary as was the case of the aforementioned Abraham as relates to his faith.

Saved by God := Through Faith

Faith alone doesn't save. You'd have to disregard other scripture to arrive at that erroneous conclusion

The Sermon on the mount common misunderstanding

The text of his teaching also clearly supports this as well. It's obvious he was not addressing the throng of people following him.

The Sermon on the mount common misunderstanding

The Sermon on the mount, Matthew 5-7, common misunderstanding. Contrary to popular belief, the Sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7) was not really a sermon at all nor was it a sermon to the throng and multitudes of people that followed Jesus throughout Galilee. The word "sermon" is a misnomer. It...

How long does Salvation last ....and why.

How long? Faithful unto death. Rev 2:10 "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." Also, read the...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

You're trying to twist things. Obedience doesn't save but without being obedient you certainly won't be. Abraham had faith and his faith was counted as righteousness but he was also obedient. Had he not been obedient, he couldn't have then become righteous as it was his obedience that...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

Yes we are saved by God's grace through faith but that doesn't mean we are not to be obedient. We are saved by God's grace through faith after following his commands, all of them. Jesus said he that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved. Mk 16:15-16. And you certainly are nor understanding...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

A few points of clarification to make. The scripture you cited has nothing to do with nor does it support death bed conversions or any conversion for that matter that would be inconsistent with scriptures that clearly teach a plan and process to be saved when all pertinent scriptures are...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

I'm not saying anything. The scriptures say it. If the scriptures require belief then so be it. If thry too require confession of belief as did the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 consistent with Romans 10:9, so be it. If they also require repentance as were tied to the Jews in Acts 2 on the day of...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

I'm not picking at nits. People constantly use the argument contrary to baptism as a requirement citing the thief on the cross as justification. Tell Peter that baptism doesn't save as he stated to the contrary in 1 Peter 3:20-1. You're wrong, Peter was right. Further to this point, how does...

How do you know you are "saved" or "not saved"

If you've followed the biblical plan of salvation you know you're saved. When all pertinent scriptures are considered as relates to salvation, you end up with the following list of requirements: 1. Belief and faith 2. Confession of belief as did the Ethiopian eunuch on Acts 8 consistent with...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

    Goodbye. Believe whatever you like.

The thief on the cross misconceptions

I have already dealt with this in this posting. Read the OP. Jesus forgave the thief while Jesus was alive, no different than he forgave the adulterous woman of her sins. This was done while the old covenant was still in effect. Baptism became a part of the salvation process after his death as...

The thief on the cross misconceptions

No, rather it's up to you to provide scripture that supports deathbed salvation.

The thief on the cross misconceptions

There is no such thing as last minute salvation on someone's deathbed nor examples of this or inference of this in the bible. It's man conceived nonsense as well as being contrary to the NT teaching on salvation. No one has been saved at the last moment of their life out of fear and desperation...
