    THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD

    You're welcome, brother!

    HE CHOSE US

Yes, I agree that putting Islam on the same level as Calvinism is completely wrong. Islam believes in a false god, but Calvinism is Christian in accepting the three-in-one nature of God and the full deity and humanity of Jesus as well as all the other basic doctrines of the Bible. I would enjoy...

    HE CHOSE US

Behold, I respect your opinions, but please don't consign us Calvinists to hell. We do not "idolize" Calvin, as you accuse us of doing. We agree with his teachings only as much as he agrees with the Scriptures. For example, the word "foreknowledge" in the Bible does NOT mean to know about...

    THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD

An excellent summary of the Christian life and ministry, J.!!

Is it on Saturday, or is it on Sunday... which.... which?

Well said, Behold! We're under the new covenant with the inward principles, not the outward practices, of the old covenant still intact. That is, the principles of rest from daily labor and worship with believers should still be important in our lives, but not which day it is. The early church...

“the day after Saturday which is Sunday on which the Lord rose from the dead” most scandalous Christian fraud

However, at least the 7th-dayers, as you call them, have returned to more-biblical beliefs on the key ones. If only the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses would, especially on the Trinity and the full deity and humanity of Jesus.

    THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD

I agree, Johann. I can discuss God without anger. It would seem others cannot. Maybe, that's why we can't discuss the Trinity. But this is the only forum that I've found which forbids the discussion of the key belief that separates us from the others. Go figure!

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Show me where in the Bible we can become sinless in this life, and I'll consider it. However, if the Apostle Paul admits that he isn't perfect in Philippians 3 and Romans 7, I'm certainly not going to claim perfection. If I did that, I would become proud of my "perfection" and sin.

“the day after Saturday which is Sunday on which the Lord rose from the dead” most scandalous Christian fraud

Dear Christian, I don't care what those documents say or what your Latin says. The new covenant of Jesus did away with the external aspects of the old one. Therefore, the early church could choose any day of the week they wanted to in order to worship on the Lord's Day. It was appropriate to...

    THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD

However, the Trinity is the key doctrine that sets Christians apart from all other religions. Why we can't discuss that amazing mystery is beyond me.

    THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD

Good summary, but I would add the texts in the Gospel of John where Jesus says that the three Persons are ONE God, a very important Mystery for people to realize.

What does the hell doctrine say about the character of God?

I see what you mean; the penalty must also be "infinite." You have a good point.

    HELLUCINATIONS

Yes, where do they get that idea? I don't see it in the Bible either.

THE LORD GOD we should make all pleadians humanoids land on planet earth!

Why are you even asking the question? It's all speculation about life in outer space, though I do enjoy science fiction. However, it is FICTION, not real.

Spiritual Extortion - The threat of consequence for refusing the "Free Gift" of salvation

I would never come even close to making such observations with unbelievers. I would develop friendships with people and witness to them about what God has done in my life. Then, I would continue to pray for them and let God use my unconditional love to work in their lives. If they have questions...

What does the hell doctrine say about the character of God?

I don't know what your question is getting at. "Infinite" to me means "unlimited." No human offense can be unlimited. You're right that God, our Creator, shows himself all the time, his divine creative power and majesty, through his creation (Romans 1:18-20). Paul says that humans are without...

What does the hell doctrine say about the character of God?

You're right that hell is a literal place, I agree, but the pictures of it as a lake of fire and a place of outer darkness may be God's way of teaching us things about hell. Those are figurative ways of describing a spiritual reality. I was an English teacher before becoming a pastor and learned...

What does the hell doctrine say about the character of God?

No, it isn't. It's true that Jesus isn't literally the light, door, resurrection, Shepherd, and the other comparisons. He is the Cause of believers' salvation by being our God along with the Father as the Source and the Holy Spirit as the Direct Doer of his rescue. The JWs don't believe that...

What does the hell doctrine say about the character of God?

Seven examples are in John's gospel, all of the "I AM" claims of Jesus to declare himself to be the same God who appeared to Moses in the burning bush. He says that he is the door to the sheepfold, the bread of life, the good Shepherd (Psalm 23), the resurrection and the life, the light of the...

What does the hell doctrine say about the character of God?

Mankind is not an interloper in the lake; he is a willing follower of his slave master, Satan. The picture of a lake of fire is God's just justice against Satan and all who are his slaves. Hell is also pictured as outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Read Matthew's...
