It all fits within Ezekiel 39

I don’t want to post an entire commentary on how Ezekiel 38-39 fits with Esther but we can look at one section at a time if you want. We can start with Ezekiel 38:1-7, I’ll summarize the various things I’ve found on the web. Ezekiel 38:1 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Well there’s a lot of things that line up with Ezekiel 38-39 being fulfilled in the book of Esther. If you do a search on this, as I did, you will see the multiple reasons to support this. Maybe one of the reasons the Jews don’t believe the Gog/Magog event has occurred is because they also don’t...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Right, but the counter argument will be that this is referring to spiritual Israel. I don’t want to go into detail on this because it’s been gone over probably several thousand times elsewhere on the forum. Israel went into exile for their wickedness. They were restored in approximately 537...

Yea, that would be a possibility. This probably fits with the idea that Gog was only spoken of verbally and not written down but that would favor an ancient fulfillment rather than a future fulfillment since we currently don’t know what those prophecy’s were.

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Ezekiel 39:21-29 is one of the strongest argument for an ancient fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39. Ezekiel 39:29 (NIV) I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord. The next event after the events of Ezekiel 38-39 is...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

The phrase “in the end of days” <319> sometimes means in the end of the days that the speaker is referring to, context is everything. Ezekiel 38-39 taking place in the latter years/days doesn’t mean it has to take place during the end of the world’s existence, it can take place long before then...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

@Douggg In Ezekiel 38:2 Gog is referred to as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Esther 3:1 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that werewith him. 2 And all the king's servants...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

@Douggg I’ve been doing some more digging at trying to find a previous reference to Gog prior to Ezekiel’s and found it in Numbers 24:7. Numbers 24:7 (KJV) He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Here’s where I’m at with Ezekiel 39:8. Several commentaries reference it back to Ezekiel 38:17. Ezekiel 38:17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Ok thanks, I’m trying to find some verse that it might be referring to but I can’t find any commentaries or cross references that show anything. I’ll let you know if I find anything.

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Ok, I can see that. Here is the LXX. Jezekiel 39:7 And my holy name shall be known in the midst of my people Israel; and my holy name shall no more be profaned: and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy in Israel. What about this thought, nowhere else is the burning of weapons...

It all fits within Ezekiel 39

Doug, can you tell us what you are thinking on verses 7 and 8? Ezekiel 39:7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Behold, it is come, and...

Why did the blind man see men like trees walking when Jesus touched him?

If you’re saying that no one has a perfect understanding of the Bible then I absolutely agree, every one of us is blind to some truths. There probably aren’t two people that agree on every single verse, so someone has to be wrong somewhere. However I don’t think this is what Romans 11:25 is...

Why did the blind man see men like trees walking when Jesus touched him?

I believe He is saying that Israel at that time, first century, believed in Jesus as the Messiah but also was still zealous for the old covenant law. There were different burdens between Jew and Gentile as seen in Acts 15:28-29. These different burdens seemed good to the Holy Spirit but this...

Why did the blind man see men like trees walking when Jesus touched him?

That makes sense, we also see this sort of thing in Luke 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightaway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better. It could be those who were transitioning to the new covenant were not seeing clearly by still being zealous for the law. In Acts 21:20...

Why did the blind man see men like trees walking when Jesus touched him?

If you are defining “blind in part” as someone who recognizes Jesus as the Messiah but doesn’t fully understand how He was a suffering Messiah, then how would you define being fully blind? I would assume being fully blind means something like recognizing Jesus as just a man or false prophet...

Why did the blind man see men like trees walking when Jesus touched him?

Israel being blind in part can have several meanings. I think most people who have Israel currently still being blind in part consider the part or majority to be unsaved and the rest or remnant to be saved. In this case the blindness differentiates between being saved and unsaved. Do you...

Why did the blind man see men like trees walking when Jesus touched him?

I was going to make a comment about Israel being blind in part yesterday but decided not to, but since you brought this up I’ll tell you where it lead me. In Luke 21:29-33 there is the parable of the fig tree and all the trees. Some people associate the fig tree with the people of Israel and...

The (7th) Abomination That Maketh Desolate

Absolutely agree with you on this, we also have to keep in mind that we have the answer to the question of how long till their blood is avenged. If Revelation 6:9-11 is a future event we wouldn’t need to ask how long in the first place because we already know, we have the foreknowledge.

The (7th) Abomination That Maketh Desolate

I think you’re referring to after Stephen died he would be the first to be absent from the body and present with the Lord as being considered the first resurrection. My thoughts are that people who died under the old covenant went to Sheol but they were removed from there when Christ arose, so I...
