Why do some Christians see Christian art as idolatry?

"God is not an oil painting nor is He chunk of stone." Agreed. He's not a piece of bread nor is He a cup of wine, either. People who have talked with "Jesus" face to face, whether on Earth or in Heaven, should be careful of participating in the same idolatry.

    Redemption ?

Why wouldn't both redeemers be worshipped?

    Redemption ?

Since the Catholic Church teaches that Mary was sinless, it would follow that she was also "co-redeemer". Doesn't it take a sinless sacrifice to save people from their sins? And who else was sinless, other than Jesus and Mary? If she is co-redeemer with Christ, she should be worshipped.

    Born again requirement ?

It seems to be right to say "whole groups of people are not christian" , such as Mormons etc., due to the groups' professed doctrines. But, are there "born again" people within those groups? Probably.

Need some help on this verse...binding things on earth

You said: "To forgive someone is to forgive ourselves for not forgiving." Can you explain this statement from a Biblical perspective? I don't see "forgive ourselves" as a command from God. I agree that when you were "..able to forgive my father, which liberated me." ; that is freedom.

    Born again requirement ?

Reformed Protestantism, but I can't prove it. :)

You can never lose your salvation!

If I were an Administrator, I'd close the comments. You've said it just right! From Romans 9: 14. "What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! 15. For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will...

    Born again requirement ?

You said: "Jesus church was begun with the disciples,..." I agree. Even though I don't think the Catholic Church is a Christian church, the church did continue, as the Scriptures proclaim.

    ANTI-CATHOLICISM IN THE MEDIA

I agree, but I don't think Jesus needs our promotion. I think He commands it, because He is a Jealous God.

You can never lose your salvation!

You stated to Stranger: "Your message is that we should not even attempt to cease sinning whether it be against God or our neighbor because you believe that God doesn't want us to try." I've read a zillion comments on these forums, from many commenters, but not one has said what you are...

What does Our Savior consider Idolatry

33,000 Protestant Denominations? We Need to Stop Saying That There Are 33,000 Protestant Denominations

Can you even imagine the huge load guilt and shame ??

Is all Scripture the Word of God? mjrhealth doesn't think so, and says the Bible is corrupt and an idol. He claims to know which parts are truth and which are not. He is not hurt in the least when someone points this out to him. But, what does the Lord think about someone who rejects His Word?

Can you even imagine the huge load guilt and shame ??

Doesn't that make you an infallible teacher, like the Pope?

Every Believer Must Do Good Works and Proclaim the Gospel, Some Are Called to Teach

Paul was writing to the church (or churches) at Ephesus. Christians in a local assembly are accountable to each other, in submission to each other and the Pastor/Elders; this is much different than Christians on a forum such as this.

    The Spirit of Fear

This is an example of the fear of God: From Genesis 22: 11. But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.” 12. And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not...

Every Believer Must Do Good Works and Proclaim the Gospel, Some Are Called to Teach

From John 6: 28. Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29. Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

The Law of Moses Has Not Been Abolished

This is the Heresy you are proclaiming:(from R.C.Sproul, The Heresy of Perfectionism, May 10,2013) "To believe that we are sinless we must annul the standards of God’s Law. We must reduce the level of divine righteousness to the level of our own performance. We must lie to ourselves both about...

Sounds like you prefer chaos instead of order. Sounds like you hate the Church of God.

    Church

You said: "...a pre-set program for worship services as do most Protestants and Catholics. The program excludes God unless God is willing to follow man's program." Would you think a church should follow, approximately, what the very early church did? Such as: From Acts 2: 40. "And with many...

Being Banned from so called Christian Foruns

That's a very good point. I don't think I have ever posted in the "non-christian forums". I should do that.
