Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

You said: "Or the one that we are to go to when our brother sins against us. The one that decides if he is to be treated like a pagan or tax collector, just like scripture says to do." Does the Catholic Church excommunicate now-a-days?

Is the Bible lying ?... Was Jesus?

I said: "Dead people cannot obey God". You said: "How dead was Lazarus when Jesus said: "Lazarus come forth!" Lazarus may have already been raised when Jesus made the command. Do you think Lazarus obeyed God before he was raised from the dead? Lazarus was deader than a doornail. He didn't...

    Boycott the NFL

A truly colorblind person would be sinless, I think. Not possible. But I don't think God shows partiality concerning the worth of a person, for all have sinned and fall short of His glory. Christians should reflect that characteristic of God.

    Boycott the NFL

I have a small amount of experience with "segregated white suburbs that sprang up around the country after World War II." I grew up in a suburb like that. But, shouldn't a Christian be "colorblind", so to speak?

Is the Bible lying ?... Was Jesus?

God gives life to the dead. Dead people cannot obey God. The only way a person can obey God is after a person is born again (from above, not by a person's will). Before that, a person is a slave of sin. The old man (old nature) believes it can limit God. The new creation (born from above)...

Is the Bible lying ?... Was Jesus?

I appreciate your correction, but these two translations are distinctly different that KJV or NKJV.(I use the NKJV) ESV: 41."They tested God again and again and provoked the Holy One of Israel" NASB: 41. "Again and again they tempted God, and pained the Holy One of Israel" So we have 3 words...

Do you know of, or attend, a local church in which only the elders decide who becomes the pastor?

    Guardian Angels.

You said: "Your concept that God knows who his chosen are before they are even born is not born out by scripture." From Ephesians chapter 1 (emphasis is mine): 3. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in...

    This Made Me Laugh! :D

Judy Ball is promoting a sinful lifestyle. Mama and Pappy are sexually immoral and are encouraging Susie Lee to "just do what makes ye happy". They did not bring their child "...up in the training and admonition of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4 "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

It sure seems as if you have a test question to determine who has the "helper" , or is part of "the true body of Christ". Is the helper the Holy Spirit? Who is given to all believers? You said: "So if you cannot ask for illumination on my simple question and get the truth then you have yet to...

Is the Bible lying ?... Was Jesus?

Your god is limited. The God I worship is unlimited (the God proclaimed in the Bible). You believe, worship, and follow a man you call Jesus, a physical object; just like the Catholic Church, which worships a physical object (the bread and wine).

Is the Bible lying ?... Was Jesus?

Just another area of disagreement: I don't think mankind can limit God in any way.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

This seems like a creed also; from your post with the question *Can anyone provide an answer for why Eve was created in the manner that is written in Genesis.* You said: "I am sincerely fishing for those who can answer the question. These people have the spirit of truth promised to help guide...

    A stranger to Christ

You quoted part of my post, and said: "Because you have not had such an experience does not mean that no one else has. The scripture is full of them." Here's the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey used to say: I said: "After the ascension of Jesus, as far as I can tell, no one in the Scriptures...

    A stranger to Christ

You said: "The key for us is not in what pia saw that was not in the scriptures, but rather in what she has seen which is found in the scriptures." I think the key is in what Pia saw "that was not" in the Scriptures. She, and mjrhealth, have seen and interacted personally with the man Jesus...
