Anti-Semitism is Sweeping the World in these Last Days

Abraham is not the "(father of Jewish people)". In Romans 4: 11. "And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness...

    Calling all Law Keepers.

The book of 1John was written to Believers. If you don't object to that conclusion, God says in verse #8. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." applies to Believers. Then we confess (agree with God) our sins.

Favorite Bible Verse of the Day!...

Romans 7: 25. "I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin."

    Was James confused?

You are blaspheming God by using the God-breathed Scriptures (from the Bible which you consider to be an idol) to proclaim the teacher who you say "came from God" and meets with you in person, face to face; whom you also believe, follow and worship.

    Calling all Law Keepers.

GodsGrace said in post #109: "I don't believe ANYONE here says they are perfect. This would be nonsense. But the fact that we cannot be perfect should not be diminished to the point of saying that we shouldn't even try." You said in post #115: "Actually I am not paying much attention to you at...

    Calling all Law Keepers.

How about the Virgin Mary? The Catholic Church proclaims her as sinless. She must have kept the law perfectly (whether it was the Mosaic Law, law of Faith or Law of Christ, etc.). The OP states: "We need the reality of how this works in actual life, not theory or scripture quotes, but how it...

    freewill is bogus

Perrero said: "God will not intervene if by doing so it adversely affects the course of our willful decisions." Peter's willful decision was to prevent Jesus from being taken by the Roman soldiers. The disciples didn't want Jesus to be crucified. But, God's purpose "intervened" in Acts 2: 23...

    Was James confused?

From John Calvin's Institutes: Lastly, to the believers, too, in whose hearts the Spirit of God already lives and reigns it (the Law) provides no unimportant use, warning them as it does, more and more earnestly what is right and pleasing in the Lord's sight. For even though they have the law...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

You partially quoted 1Peter 3:21. "21. There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,..." Baptism shouldn't be separated from faith in the resurrection of...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Yes, Protestant Churches do excommunicate. I think it was Kepha who indicated that there was a change in Canon law in 1983 which essentially stopped the formal excommunication processes in the Catholic Church. I had questioned the anathemas and excommunication decrees in the Second Council of...

Favorite Bible Verse of the Day!...

Romans 6: 1.What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2. Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

    Questions

Need feedback/interpretations of these verses from Romans 5: 13. (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam...

Is the Bible lying ?... Was Jesus?

Pia said this : "Most Christians I have met, from whichever denomination, has a lot of trouble believing that the Resurrected Jesus, can and does choose to Manifest Himself at times, so I went looking in the Bible." But, are there any physical, person to person, manifestations of Jesus in the...

    So, How Mature Are We?

Maybe this verse says something about maturity. From Hebrews. Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discernboth good and evil.

A good reason to stay married, if you're selfish like me, from Ephesians 5: 28....he who loves his wife loves himself."!! Ponder that.
