    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Jesus has always been the same. Therefore he has always been a man and will always be a man. God is not a man. Hebrews 13 (KJV) 8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Ceasing sin activity is a point in the KJV as well. Down goes your argument. John 5 (KJV) 14Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 1 Cor. 15 (KJV) 34Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Jesus is a man descended from Adam who never sinned. Though he was tempted in all ways a normal human is (Hebrews 4:15) he chose not to sin though he hypothetically could have had he decided to because temptation refers to a desire. Jesus told people they can stop sinning such as in John 8:11...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Sin isn't based on technicalities and inheritance. People sin simply when they break God's laws by choice. Do you agree with that at least?

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Adam and Eve were sinless until they violated the commandment of God, yes? But sin didn't enter the world through them because it was already in the world. The first sinner was technically the talking snake who lied to them regarding their death, right? Yet Jesus was also descended geologically...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Jesus also had the same needs as a regular baby, but we don't blame him do we? From a Biblical and personal observation I also have to disagree with you. How can God judge someone for what He is responsible for? The best answer is God is not morally or legally responsible for someone's choice to...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

That erroneously suggests that God creates sinners and thus He would be held accountable for that. When people sin in and of their own choices the judgement resides on them. That is how God holds people accountable and why people are not born sinning. Original sin/born sinning concept is bunk.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

That's one for sure. There are more like Revelation 20:4,10-15, Romans 2:2-12, Romans 14:10-12, 2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Peter 4:17-18, Matthew 25:26-30, and Hebrews 10:26-27. So I am really curious that despite all the arguments and lawyering and theology.... how do you get around the works-based...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Please take a moment and gather yourself and realize the side you're arguing for right now. You're basically arguing that the apostles did not tell people to stop sinning. Hello, sir. Have you ever read the Bible? Ceasing sin activity is a major theme from cover to cover. I'll just take some...
  10. Runningman

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Hmm going to have to disagree. The apostles went all about the Roman empire reminding Christians to basically stop sinning or there will be hell to pay. No pun intended. It's all over the New Testament. People are also not born sinning either. Anyway, how do you account for the final judgement...
  11. Runningman

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

One can sin and fall from the grace of God. It's not explicitly stated in those words, but there are enough conditional statements in the Bible that means it's so. Condition: walking in the light Result: purified from all sin 1 John 1 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we...

If I am "commanded" to love you (brother/sister), what is it you think my love is commanded to be? (dreaming?)

Good question and I think some of the nuance in the type of love they were referring to gets lost in translation. There are different kinds of love. Sometimes it's more like wishing someone the best, but really having nothing to do with them even if they were in need. Other times it's not only...

    Run AWAY from Calvinism!

Almost got lured completely into Calvinism once. A lot of people do because it sounds religious, sounds good, sounds perfect. Started praying like a Calvinist, acting like a Calvinist, believing like a Calvinist, and every time I did I felt I was sinning. Something was not sitting right in my...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

True, but you're only touching the tip of the iceberg about what the early church thought about God, Jesus and who they could become. That may be why "nearly all or all other forums will stop the discussion out right." It's because they may already be keen about where the discussion will...

When Jesus Came out the Grave, he was Born Again.

The only explanation Abraham offered was they ended up where they are due to their bad things and good things they received. While it is not directly stated that they were judged prior to their arrival at their destinations, they must have been sorted due to what they received in life; in other...

When Jesus Came out the Grave, he was Born Again.

Next question. Did God cause to happen the bad things Lazarus received in his life or the good things the rich man received in his?

Calvinism + TULIP : Will get you Killed... (Vol 2)

The Ephesians 2:8 verse you referenced above does not refer to faith as the gift in this context. It refers to grace as the gift with faith being the means through which one receives the gift of grace. That is the grammatically correct way to understand that verse. Not the same context as the...

When Jesus Came out the Grave, he was Born Again.

I would offer you, I don't know if you will accept this, but the "Holy Spirit" that Jesus received at his water baptism came down in the bodily form of a dove, while simultaneously there was a voice from heaven, which was God. The dove was imagery of an anointing of a spirit of holiness and an...

When Jesus Came out the Grave, he was Born Again.

Ok, I'll bite. So Lazarus went to the place of comfort, even though he's a sinner too, because he received bad things in his life? That's literal?
  20. Runningman

When Jesus Came out the Grave, he was Born Again.

Generally speaking, I agree with most of the points you just made. The Bible is indeed filled with a lot of historical and cultural context that may not make sense from our modern day perspectives and worldviews. We run the risk of misunderstanding something that may have made perfect sense to...
