    What is freewill?

Thanks for joining in. But the greater issue that freewill only fits into, is understanding eternity vs. time and the terminology used to describe their interface. In other words, if we only consider the matter from our timeline perspective, we only have the smaller half of the information.

    What is freewill?

Such a thing can only exist on a timeline. But good, that's you considering the matter from your own perspective. But the issue is not limited to the timeline perspective of mankind, because the idea of "freewill" comes from God...because here on this timeline we are at least seemingly given a...

    What is freewill?

Your thinking and guessing (your words) shows that you are relying on your understanding. And refusing to consider what is beyond your understanding, is a self-imposed limitation. One last question...walk with me: How does eternity fit into time? PS, @Wrangler please feel free to join in.

    What is freewill?

The point is, there is no such thing as "foreknowledge." But if you are not able to comprehend this "same yesterday, today, and forever" truth--never mind. You're not ready.

    What is freewill?

No, that's backwards. God does not "foreknow" the matters of men in their times according to the ways of this world, but it is rather man and the world that only know what they know according to this world, which is only a small and limited part of the greater whole and complete knowledge of God...

Would you surrender your own beliefs in the cause of doctrinal unity?

Yes, the emphasis really should be to understand and respect that we have but one unity and it is being our own part(s) of Him, which is the very thing that makes us One--one new man in Christ, but otherwise a body of many (different) members.

Would you surrender your own beliefs in the cause of doctrinal unity?

It is best to consider past, present, and future tense with a grain of salt. It is better as followers of Christ to begin to consider all things as God does: "the same yesterday, today, and forever" (by the renewing of our mind).

Would you surrender your own beliefs in the cause of doctrinal unity?

I do get your point... I suppose it is the result of our nature and being weak in the flesh that sees our being different members of the same body competitively and with rivalry. Too many Martha's. :(

Would you surrender your own beliefs in the cause of doctrinal unity?

The call is not to surrender to each other, but rather to surrender to God and the only actual unity that is His.

Does anyone want to compare Old Testament Prophecy to Revelation?

This is another defining point of Paul's comment, saying, "but each one in his own order"...which only eludes to all that his comment entails. In other words, yes, each generation, and yes, those of old and those of these times following the coming of Christ each are spoken to--as it is with...

Does the Kingdom of God being at hand mean it will come or that it has come?

The difference that God wants us to understand is that not having created us in His own omnipresent setting, but in this setting where if a change of presence is to occur, one needs to go or take that action--we must change, and be willing to leave behind this lesser world. Another way to look...

    Finding Heaven

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8

    Why did God create humans?

God gave His reason for creating humans in the beginning by creating man in His own image, saying, "the man should not be alone." Which was not fully elaborated or clear until the idea of a Bride and Groom and the marriage of Christ with the Church was said to be "as Christ is head of the...

    Christianity 101

While much of that is true, it should be noted as only being a partial list, and yet [Christianity] could be defined even more simply, as follows: Christianity by its simplest definition means: A follower of Christ (which does not assume that one is saved merely by following, but requires...

Who ARE "the prophets" in Ephesians 2:20?

Indeed, these are the pillars of the spiritual Temple for our hope, being built in heaven, as we precede from "strength to strength" (Psalm 84:7) unto God.

Does the Kingdom of God being at hand mean it will come or that it has come?

KJV But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. As the above passage reads, it shows the timing as neither past, present, or future, but as all of the above. "Is come" addresses Israel in that present tense, but without limiting the statement to that...

Who ARE "the prophets" in Ephesians 2:20?

Every word from the mouth of God...which would include the foundation, but also what is being built upon it.

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

I suppose in summary, that it is important to understand that God reveals His truth (according to record) by and from the least of men, even from a donkey or an evil king, from the best of men, and also directly...and since Pentecost all truth is made available to us according to His purpose and...

Who ARE "the prophets" in Ephesians 2:20?

We see "apostles" and "prophets" through the grand lens of the scriptures as being bigger than life, while the words in the original language mean something great in one respect, but at the same time ultimately speak of those who are only human. By definition the original terms simply mean...
