Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

Sorry, I don't do well responding to long posts. Remember David lived after the law ...see post #25.

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

You probably don't want that, as Beelzebub is also known as Lord of the flies'. lol

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

Remember, God's unconditional promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were given at least 400 years before the law. So mercy reigned back then.

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

Tell David there was no Mercy in the OT... Psalm 5:7 (KJV) But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Psalm 23:6 (KJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the...

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

The only difference is, is that God has His life living inside us, while we don't have our spirit inside our children. They share in our sinful nature until they are born again, but that's about it.

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

Well this is from The Bible Knowledge Commentary on the same two verses, which I agree with,... 10:28-29. Under the Old Covenant, if an Israelite spurned the Mosaic Law and at least two or three witnesses verified his actions, he was put to death. This being true, the author then argued from...

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

Well, there are other 'spirits' but they need not apply. :) 1 John 4:1 (NASB) Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

@Stumpmaster @Ziggy My point is that we are wholly dependent on the Holy Spirit whether we know it or not, so we might as well know it and that way we will be better prepared to act on it.

Right, God didn't fill 1/3rd of His Word with future events to be ignored.

Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?

Upon Whom are we dependent on when it comes to wisdom, direction, strength, comfort, conviction, insight, fruit? Are we fully dependent on Him or do we run in our own strength, like the little locomotive saying "I know I can, I know I can" when all along our experience says 'we know we can't, we...

    Bible alone heresy!

I went on to say (which you conveniently omitted)..."it tests all dogma etc. against Scripture, and if there is a conflict, then Scripture wins out because it has the higher authority." Why is that hard to understand? You may disagree, but it's not hard to understand.

Does the bible say anywhere at all to have a relationship with jesus?

John 10:30 (KJV) I and my Father are one. 1 John 1:3 (KJV) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

    Bible alone heresy!

No, but neither did Trent or the author of Trent (RCC) hold to Sola Scriptura.

    Bible alone heresy!

There is no problem with sola Scriptura if you properly understand it. It does not reject a priori 'creeds, councils, dogma, and decrees' of the Church. it tests all dogma etc. against Scripture, and if there is a conflict, then Scripture wins out because it has the higher authority. What do...

Does the bible say anywhere at all to have a relationship with jesus?

You asked about a relationship with Jesus. Prayer is talking to Jesus. Our relationship is no longer to sin or the law but we are to present our members to Him. Just what are you referring to?

Does the bible say anywhere at all to have a relationship with jesus?

A good topic. Romans 7:4 NKJV [4] Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another-to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. Galatians 2:20 NKJV [20] I have been crucified with Christ; it...
