Election, Reprobation, as taught in Church History.

Again there's no individual election to salvation. We become his elect by faith. Election (Gk eklego) refers to God choosing in Christ a people whom he destines to be holy and blameless in his sight. No one is elect apart from union with Christ through faith. Election is corporate and...

There's no individual election to salvation.

    You misunderstand election.

Election, Reprobation, as taught in Church History.

It's not about some people being selected for salvation. It's a promise that God will be faithful to us because he was faithful to Israel and the OT saints

Election, Reprobation, as taught in Church History.

It's obvious: see where he changes from past tense to present? From past saints he was faithful too, to what is promised to us? and whom he justified, them he also glorified. (Past tense) 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Present tense.)

Past tense. He's talking about the ot saints, and it's about God being faithful not about some system of salvation.

Things are going to get real..

I didn't read this whole thread but as far as the war games go that's been going on forever. The person in my family that's in the military just came back from " war games," in a cold country this winter.

Was Adam Imparted Free Will From The Beginning Of Creation?

No, he is telling " you" not to resist God. If " you" was incapable of resisting this would not be a necessary conversation.

Was Adam Imparted Free Will From The Beginning Of Creation?

No, the " you" is a rebellious Jew angry because God uses his rebellion to reach the gentiles.

Was Adam Imparted Free Will From The Beginning Of Creation?

That's not Paul talking! "ONE OF YOU WILL SAY TO ME." The one asking the question"who resists his will" isn't Paul... It's the one Paul is arguing with.

Predestination vs free will: is there really any conflict in Scripture?

Ok I generally agree, except for when I don't. What if the future is unknowable?

Was Adam Imparted Free Will From The Beginning Of Creation?

Who is " you" here? Paul doesn't say we can not resist God, you do! Paul says we can answer back to God. You say we can't. You are the kind of person Paul was talking about! The kind who twists what God has said into fatalism.

    new version of OSAS?

Nonsense. Belief is the basic requirement for salvation.

There Ain’t No Way This Guy Is Saved......Right?

I'll be honest. I don't think anyone but God can truly know a person's heart. So, is he saved or not? I don't know, I'm just a man, struggling with my own sins at times, but believing in the promise that salvation is based on belief, not perfection. I do think faith will always result in works...

Was Adam Imparted Free Will From The Beginning Of Creation?

But if I can not resist his will, then obviously God wants me to do what I'm doing. But I can resist. Because the next thing Paul says indicates we can talk back to God. Your theology doesn't allow that. Paul wasn't saying we can not resist God's will. The mystery objector was saying that and...

Was Adam Imparted Free Will From The Beginning Of Creation?

Uh- uh... naughty, naughty. You are appealing to my freedom and autonomy to assign something to myself. You have no wiggle room in your cult to do that.

Predestination vs free will: is there really any conflict in Scripture?

I agree with a lot of that, but I also believe we can always resist. How else do we explain atheists? How else do we explain people who have had all the information they need and still leave God?

Predestination vs free will: is there really any conflict in Scripture?

I chose to respond to his drawing. Enabling is not causing. He draws all btw. Not all respond.

Predestination vs free will: is there really any conflict in Scripture?

That's not what we mean by Free Will. Of course there's penalties for actions. But we still make our own choices. And I don't believe God chooses us from birth.
