"But who do you say that I am?"

God Almighty, the Father Have a look at it here in the hebrew interlinear ..... go down to vs 10 on the 2nd page. thankyou. And thankyou to God Almighty for sending us the very best of all his created living beings. Jesus was his firstborn, his very best. Just shows us how much we...

"But who do you say that I am?"

did you realise that when you see the word lord all in capitals, LORD, it indicates that the tetragrammaton is the word being translated in the original text. Im sure you know what the tetragrammaton is. When you see the same word in lower case, 'Lord', it signifies Jesus.

"But who do you say that I am?"

yep i dont see an issue with this verse either. Jesus was the master worker, all things were created by him because he was the 'master worker' as proverbs 8 mentions. His power and ability to create came from God Almighty. Thats what makes Jesus unique. He was the only living being who was...

"But who do you say that I am?"

yes we have. What do you think of the coptic translation?

"But who do you say that I am?"

El Gibbor. That is the word in hebrew translated as 'Mighty God' Do you know that the hebrew scriptures apply El Shaddai only to the Creator.,... it is translated as 'Almighty God' So even this verse does not prove that Jesus is Almighty God. Jesus is a Mighty God/ El Gibbor.... he is...

"But who do you say that I am?"

Who was God speaking to in Genesis when he said "Let us make man in our image" ? Was it not The Word....the one who has been with him since the beginning of creation?

"But who do you say that I am?"

what does the word 'god' mean? in hebrew it means 'mighty strong one' So yes, Jesus is certainly a mighty strong one.... we can call him a god. he is a god. Just as the early christians believed him to be.

"But who do you say that I am?"

I know why the coptic speaking christians did not have that same confusion that we do

"But who do you say that I am?"

yep, he's a divine being, absolutely.

"But who do you say that I am?"

I can agree with the above verses and believe 100% that Jesus kingdom is the Kingdom of God. I have no issue with that at all. :) and my opinion of John 1:1 is still the same.

"But who do you say that I am?"

it is very relevant ducky Why did those earliest christians translate it that way? Because that is how they understood it back then.

"But who do you say that I am?"

I know the rendering of John 1:1 is a good talking point for trinitarians so im not going to debate why the indefinite article is or isnt used. But I think its interesting that before the trinity doctrine got its foot in the door, christians did not seem to take Johns words to mean 'the Word...

WHERE DOES THE WORD HELL COME FROM?

there is further evidence in the account it is not a literal story. Notice this part: The rich man looking up to heaven speaks to God and asks for a drop of water, then says: "I am in anguish in this blazing fire.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you received in full your good...

WHERE DOES THE WORD HELL COME FROM?

Would a real character who is suffering in a burning fire ask for 'one drop of water' to relieve his suffering? Can a person who is locked away in hell look up into heaven and still talk to God? Is not hell a place for the wicked who are supposed to be 'separated' from God? The story is a...

    Freedom in Christ!

we are not set free from the 'consequences' of sin If we do something wrong, we will still suffer the consequences.

WHERE DOES THE WORD HELL COME FROM?

i dont put too much stock in reading the parable as a literal one. It was a story to explain a spiritual truth like many other of Jesus parables. The fact is that the hebrew scriptures plainly state that the dead are not conscious of anything at Eccl 5:9 So when we die, we become...

WHERE DOES THE WORD HELL COME FROM?

if the word used by Jesus simply meant the 'grave'....then when he said the above, he could only have been speaking symbolically of the 'grave'. Fire is a destructive force just as the grave is destructive to the physical body. Some people will be forever interned in the grave/hell because...

    Freedom in Christ!

That is true Aspen, we are free from the condemnation that comes from sin. James 1:15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death. God has offered mankind a freedom from such condemnation. We can attain to...
