The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Why not both? Salvation is found in the Person of Jesus Christ crucified and risen for our sins who is found in the Gospels, Acts, the Epistles and Revelation...not in baptism. Acts 2:38 is stating 'on account of (FOR) the forgiveness of sins', not in order to obtain forgiveness.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I don't see anything in the OP about dry baptism or any baptism for that matter.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

It would be helpful if some posters here would reread the OP and quit mudslinging each other's denominations. IOW get back on topic.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Figures, you would wish someone 'luck'. Is that what your faith runs on? I realize when someone can't answer a question, they resort to red herrings and 'it went right over your head' type comments.

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

You agree that fallen man has less of a free choice than Adam had before the Fall yet carry on like he is not a slave to his sin and satan and does not need to be set free by the Son.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Here is what you wrote yesterday... So you inserted the 'ism'. The Body of Christ gets splintered for two reasons. 1) false teaching which strays from Scripture. 2) Our own limitedness... For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even...

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

Answer me this. Does fallen man have less of a 'free choice' than Adam had before the Fall or are you contending there was no change in man's constitution due to the Fall?

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

I guess you haven't grasped what I was describing? God doesn't work in a person so 'they want to be born again'. Aagain, He brings them under conviction of their sin and reveals His Son to those under conviction seek Him. Again... And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For...

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

Yes, He brings us to the point of being willing through convicting us of sin and revealing His Son as Savior... John 16:8 KJVS [8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Matthew 16:17 KJVS [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed...

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

Yes, a will that has been convicted of it's sinfulness and has been revealed it's Savior. Case dismissed.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Oh really? Sorry me, I didn't realize that we were saved by an 'ism'.

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

So what you are saying is that Christians have room for boasting by claiming "I exercised my will to choose Jesus, why don't you also?" Even faith comes by hearing and hearing by God's Word (not our own will). Rom 10:17

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

Your point? My point was even that choice took a convicting and enlightening work of God apart from which we would never have made that 'choice'.

God's Desire is that All Men be Saved!

I believe that God will convict a person of their sin especially in light of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Those that are obedient to that conviction of sin and seek relief, God will further reveal His rescue (for them) in His Son for their sin...that would be where they exercise their will...

What is meant by "rightly dividing the word of truth?"

With the popular use of the term (usually among Mid Acts and some other dispensationalists) means making the proper distinction of what Scriptures pertain to who, when, and where. Thus not all Scriptures are written 'to us' even though all scripture is written 'for us' and our edification.

    Does Your Church Use Catechism?

Cute bumper sticker material. A person's salvation is dependent on putting our trust in the right God.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The way I have learned the difference between 'religion' and 'Jesus Christ' is that religion is man's attempt to reach and please God, whereas Jesus is God personally reaching down in His mercy and saving man.
