Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

I think we are on the same page. I do have much disagreement with those who think that Pauls's epistles are the only source of our doctrine post the cross. I believe what Paul tells us. The Apostles receive the mystery via the Holy Spirit. I think this is why that several of the 12 took the...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

The book of James is reported to be written between 44 and 49 AD. One of the earliest books of the Bible. I think this is relevant. The difficult transition from the law to faith was clearly difficult for those who had been deep in Jewish religious traditions for generations. Put yourself in the...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

Paul mentions three times "my gospel". He could have said our gospel or the gospel. Makes one think Paul's gospel was different. I think it was at first. I think the Holy Spirit dragged the 12 into accepting the mystery revealed to them via Cornelius and with the discussion with Paul.

Are you part of the elect?

I view works as evidence of faith not requirements for salvation.

I'm inclined to believe that one size does not fit all. We do not expect to find salvation as the Apostle Paul did. Seems like a "divine special" event. No one is waiting for that bright light. I think the situation with Cornelius could be another "divine special" event also. A situation with a...

It's simple to see that my views and beliefs are predestined.

Are you part of the elect?

You see "not your own doing" as saved through faith. I see "not your own doing" as given grace. Without God's grace, we could not have salvation by faith. Grace is God's free gift and not our own doing. In other words, we cannon manufacture grace, we cannot earn grace, we cannot purchase grace...

Are you part of the elect?

We get into trouble when we rely on what we think and do not accept the scripture in its plain reading.

Did Peter Preach and Lead to Salvation Gentile Christians in Corinth?

In 1 Corinthians 1:12:14 we see Paul correcting the Church at Corinth. He references Cephas (Peter) as one who some in the Church follow or who were taught by and baptized along with Apollos. I do not think this proves that Peter came to Corinth as Corinth Church members could have heard Peter...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

Yes. One Gospel and One Body of Christ. I do think the delivery from the 12 was much different than Paul's teaching of God's grace and faith. I cannot validate this but it seems that the Holy Spirit had to drag Peter and the other 11 into the fact of salvation by faith alone. Some historians...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

You're starting to remind me of my English teacher. I never meant to imply that Matthias was an original. I was actually paying attention in Vacation Bible School when I was 8. I must do a better job of my sentence structure I do not want my post marked up with a red pen and made to stand in the...

    Paul

I see that in places too. No one was ever saved by the law. It's clear that there were those in Christ, in the body of Christ before Paul. Paul the messenger of Christ Jesus was used effectively by God for his purposes. Many disregard all scripture except Pauls epistles. Big mistake.

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

When we draw a distinction between the O.T. and the N.T we would be better off in our understanding to draw the line before the cross and after the cross. It would make more sense to me if the scriptures were divided into Old Testament, Middle Testament and New Testament.

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

We have yet to see the true measure of wrath that God will bring down on those who reject him. Wait until all of those who reject our Savior are cast into the lake of fire. That might cause your feelings to melt figuratively speaking of course..

Are you part of the elect?

This guy goes into depth on the matter of election. I'm not sure I agree with everything here but it makes a lot of sense. This guy is a strong strong opponent of Calvinism. He does make a lot of good points to ponder.

It might surprise you but I'm not Arminian. I do not put any stock in the Synod of Dort. I do not put any doctrinal value in Calvinism nor Arminianism. I feel that both have roots in Gnostic teachings and the underlined assumptions (definitions) that accompany both views are flawed. I put my...

I've seen all the Calvinist talking points before. I see things differently. The important thing is that my salvation and I truly hope yours will have us worshiping in Heaven together one day soon.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every...

Are you part of the elect?

The scriptures are clear that God desires all men to be saved. A sovereign God can allow free will. A sovereign God can know our ultimate choice without making it for us. People are not predestined to become rapist or child molesters. Once you're saved you are predestined to adoption, to be...
