Are you part of the elect?

It is false to assume elect means elected to salvation. Election is to service, calling and purpose. In the scriptures elect can be referencing the Messiah, the Israelites or any number of groups or individuals for Gods purpose.

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

I'm speaking of the original 12. Paul was certainly an Apostle but it was 12+1.

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

I've not come across that debate. The scriptures are very clear that he joined the 11.

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

Since Matthias was chosen to replace Judas in Acts 1:12-26 before Pauls experience at Damascus Paul could have never been considered a member of the 12 unless I'm just totally missing something here.

    Paul

I suggest he gives HIS attention to the scriptures.

    Paul

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

Ephesians 3 tells us that the Holy Spirit reveled the mystery to the Apostles. By the time of Pauls ministry Judas had been replaced. 12 Apostles plus Paul.

    Paul

I'm trying to have patience with those with limited capacity. Not always easy.

    Paul

Your mistake is that you rely on your own understanding to discount Paul or any of the inspired words of God. Your understanding falls way short, as do all men. Our default should not be that we discount the scripture, our default should be " we simply do not understand". Let's start with your...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

I'm not sure we can confirm that the 12 had copies of Pauls epistles. The only way they could have was for them to go to the churches Paul planted. Not impossible but if they were still under the pre-revelation commission to the Jews only I'm not sure they would be in that situation. It would be...

    Paul

Every word written by Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit. Man's lack of understanding cannot re-direct a belief that the author is wrong. He is not. Every word spoken in the New Testament before the cross must take into consideration the mystery God reveled. The scriptures confirm that even...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

He was certainly ahead in Administration of the revelation. We know that it was a very difficult transition for the Jew's to accept salvation by faith without works (law) in addition to the Gentiles being heirs.

    Paul

Paul is not writing to Gentiles only. He is writing to both Jew and Gentile who are now Christians. Romans is the most obvious. We can identify several in Pauls letters who are Jews. Timothy was half Jew. Priscilla and Aquila were Jews. Many others. Let's take your advice. In 2 Timothy 2:15...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

In Ephesians 3 Paul tells us that Jesus reveled the mystery to himself and the Holy Spirit reveled it to the Apostles and Prophets. Was that revelation made by Jesus and the Holy Spirit at the same exact time? Many believe that Paul was first in knowing of the mystery but is that validated in...

    Tongues

I agree that much of this was for Peter as it was for Cornelius.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

Mungo, do you think some of these men who were saved in services like this and died storming the beaches or in battle are in hell because they didn't have a chance to be baptized in water? That they didn't get a chance to add any works to their salvation.

    Tongues

It's clear that when we are saved we are indwelled with the Holy Spirit. Gifts of the Holy Spirit (several different ones) are given as the Holy Spirit wills. Some will have the gift of tongues but not all. Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 12:12-31. I think we tend to make this more...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

The gate to Heaven is narrow.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

Jesus didn't get along well with the religious zealots.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

Corneilus was saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit before he ever got wet. Baptism is a ritual. A public confession of your faith. Communion is a ritual. Neither is required for salvation. Millions have been saved moments before death in battle, hospital beds and nursing homes without ever...
