    The One Baptism

There will be several parts to this thread, and we can discuss it as we push forward to the identity of the Baptism into Christ. It is impossible to give this subject its due in just one or two, or even three posts. I plan to give clear examples from Scripture of four of the seven baptisms...

Grace or works of the law?

Some of them have told me that the Holy Spirit applies the Blood of Christ at the ceremony of water baptism. There is no such thing in Scripture, not even a hint of such a thing!

Grace or works of the law?

When Peter said this in Acts 10:43, what happened to water baptism? "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."

Grace or works of the law?

Matt. 12:34 "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. This principle here by Christ is the premise on which Paul explains our salvation. "The abundance of the heart" given here by Christ is what the mouth will...

Grace or works of the law?

NO! Repentance is salvation. Repentance is a change of mind that accepts Christ. Paul told us when we are saved. Eph. 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of...

    The One Baptism

No, I'm certainly not suggesting that water baptism is not necessary! Water baptism is so closely connected to the baptism into Christ, that the two cannot be separated.

Grace or works of the law?

What did Peter say had to happen first and why? What happens when we repent according to the Scripture?

    The One Baptism

Very well said, Randy! This knowledge didn't come from hanging out on the boards, it came from advanced research with a heart for the truth! We will have some here and already shown to be true, who will not even accept the spiritual aspect of baptism plainly taught in Scripture. Sad to say...

Grace or works of the law?

"What we have here is a failure to communicate," remember that from Cool Hand Luke? The failure here is that, "Then Peter said unto them, REPENT...." Let's stop right there! What happens when one repents? That's a question to you, user.

    The One Baptism

The first 4 paragraphs prove there is a distinction between the spiritual and water baptisms. When I resume the OP I will just for you add some more proof of that.

    The One Baptism

We agree on some things, but not on others. I have already shown you there is a spiritual baptism apart from water. My intensions are to further expound on that fact! If you can't accept the plain truth of what I have already shown you, then this thread will be of none effect in your...

    The One Baptism

Before we explain the One Baptism, let's familiarize with the word "Baptism" as found throughout the Scripture. First, one must realize that the word "Baptism" is not always referring to water! A clear example of this is found in Matt. 3:11 from John the Baptist. "I indeed baptize you with...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Yes, we agree Mark 16:16 is the believers baptism, and belief always precedes water baptism. It's the purpose for water baptism where we disagree. i will address that when I get time to create the new thread.

    These three are one

I agree there is "another Jesus" Paul made that clear. I agree it is not good enough to just believe that Christ exists. Matthew made that clear. We Protestants, most of us, believe that it is well for us to separate from the legalist view of the RCC. The RCC is has burdened the common man...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

It is plainly given to us in example, if by chance you have read it! Sprinkling is used in ancient Jewish rituals, metaphors and washings, not the New Covenant believer's baptism.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You know as well as I that it is a commandment of Christ! The difference in water baptism for you and me is the reason we are water baptized, plus my water baptism is biblical as illustrated by the baptism of Christ and Phillip baptizing the eunuch. It was full body immersion. When I get the...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

How can one be of Apollos today when there is not even a sermon recorded in Scripture by Apollos? Paul was chosen of God, he is the author of some 14 books of Scripture. Today, if you use that metaphor, it would be I'm of Charles Stanley, no I'm of the Pope, no I'm of John Calvin, etc. Paul...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Of course they were! But even the 3 1/2 years with Christ did not prepare them with the wisdom given Paul by Christ in His revelation. This is why Paul was given about 1/3 of the New Testament to explain this New Covenant, to explain the business of the Church, our salvation in detail, how to...

For I Determined Not To Know Any Thing Among You, Save Jesus Christ, And Him Crucified.

Paul had a way with words! I read his letters over and over again. At times I can feel the power of the Holy Spirit through those words. It's not a worship toward Paul, it's a desire to reach the level of faith he possessed.
