The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The bread and wine are symbols, in that they retain the substance of bread and wine, but are at the same time the body and blood of Christ. This is a profound mystery that can only be accepted by faith (John 6:60-63). … only if God is not present in the bread and wine. Says you. But Jesus...

No, initially they were centred in Jerusalem with Peter as the first Pope. Later the Church was centred in Rome.

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

What? You think “new testament” in Heb 9:15 refers to the Scriptures, the books of Matthew to Revelation? Good grief. No, wait ... you must be joking - no one could possibly be that clueless! Anyway, enough of the comic relief … you’ve yet to show me where the NT says it is “the word of...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

You completely ignore 1Tim 3:15 because it contradicts your false doctrine that the Scriptures are the one and only source of truth and authority.

what do you see wrong with this ?

My understanding is, we initially gain access to God's grace through faith (Eph 2:8), but then we must abide in Christ by keeping his commandments (John 14:15, 1John 2:3). James 2:24 says "a man is justified by works and not by faith alone" - "works" is keeping Christ's commandments, which of...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Who says the NT is all we need for salvation? The Catholic Catechism correctly interprets all the Scriptures you need for salvation. The faithful are not required to understand all the teachings therein, but simply to believe them. And he CCC is written in such a way that an adult of...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Joseph may not have been fully aware of Mary's role and place in God's plan.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The Scriptures don't have the final say. The Church is the "pillar and foundation of the truth" (1Tim 3:15), not the Scriptures. You've got it back-to-front ... the Scriptures came from the Church, the Church didn't come from the Scriptures.

My understanding is, Protestants are material heretics, not formal heretics.

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

This isn't what I asked for … so I'll try again: Where does the NT say the NT is the "word of God"?

Walking in the Spirit and Abiding in Christ

Evidently, you’ve got no idea of what “Christ’s commandments” means - it is much more than simply believing. The NT has many do’s-n-don’ts that believers must obey, that are in effect, commandments of Christ. For example, in Romans 1:29-31, Paul mentions several sins - “ [28] And as they liked...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

In 1Cor 9:27, Paul is referring to being “disqualified” from the “race”, at the end of which is the prize of eternal life (v.24-26). This means he thinks he can fall and not end up saved. And consider 1Cor 1:18 - Paul refers to "us who are BEING saved" - he doesn’t refer to “us who ARE saved”...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Nothing at all - you’ve summed it up beautifully. How can it be idolatry if God is present? If the bread and wine are only symbolic, why does Jesus bless them before offering them to the apostles to eat? If the wine is only symbolic, why does Jesus call it “my blood of the covenant”? He didn’t...

… except I never said that. Regardless, thanks for providing an excellent example of a straw man argument.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The apostles were all Catholic; they were the first leaders of the Catholic Church. All the NT writers were Catholics. So how come you aren’t?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Sure, but that depends on how you define “believers”. There are millions of “believers” who reject many of the teachings of the Catholic Church and are therefore heretics. They also preach against the Catholic Church, thereby making themselves enemies of Christ's body. How can heretics who...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Like I said before, you're a genius (who seems to be incapable of thinking even a little outside the box). "When I was a child ... I reasoned like a child" (1Cor 13:11).

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

You are correct, of course ... silly me. The "woman" in Rev 12 who gives birth to Jesus could not possibly be Mary,, the mother of Jesus. You're a genius.
