The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Married to a woman, in fact.

The Pillar and Ground of the Truth

I agree. Regarding theology and the interpretation of Scripture, St. Augustine used to say, “unity in necessary things; liberty in doubtful things”. All the Churches referred to in Acts were under the control of the apostles, and therefore were all part of the Catholic Church. If James...

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

As far as I know, nowhere in the NT does it say the NT is “God’s word” or “the word of God”. So how do you know the NT is “the word of God”? And nowhere do the Scriptures say “the word of God” is confined to the Scriptures. Sounds like you’re making unscriptural assumptions. Desperate for...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Not according to the Catholic Church. Whom should I believe - a deluded, misinformed cult-member who operates outside the Church, or the Word of God as expressed in the doctrines of His one, true Church?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

You evidently have no idea who has the Holy Spirit - you somehow missed recognising Christ's only Church, based in Vatican City, that is lead by the Holy Spirit. That’s not how it works. The interpretation of Scripture is decided on by authorized experts in the Church, approved by the Pope...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Jesus did call it the “eucharist” … not in the Scriptures, but later; and not directly, but through his Church. I can't find the word "only" in that verse. You added it.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I'm not aware of any Catholic teaching that advises the faithful to pray to idols. Perhaps you can enlighten me. Sometimes God transmits his miraculous powers, not only through humans, but through inanimate objects as well. Surely you’ve read about the woman (in Mark 5:25-34) who was cured...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I’m very glad you've been studying the Catechism of the Catholic Church - you will learn more about God’s truth from it than you ever will from just reading the Bible. There is nothing at all wrong with praying to Mary, in fact the Catholic Church highly recommends it, so that is what I do...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I thought that would be obvious - if a statue is weeping tears of blood, then that is a miracle performed by God Almighty. I can understand why the faithful would want to kneel down and pray in the presence of such a miracle, especially since it involves Mary.

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

I don't need Scriptures - I have something better - I have the Church's word and doctrine on the matter (which is based on a verse you've evidently overlooked). Catholic doctrine is just as valid as any Scripture, and is usually clearer. Your starting point is all wrong - the CHURCH is the...

Walking in the Spirit and Abiding in Christ

There are many thousands of atheists living in the world who were once baptized believers - are they saved? Any verse that APPEARS to say we are saved by faith alone is contradicted by verses that say we NOT saved by faith alone. James 2:24 says "a man is justified by works and not by faith...

Walking in the Spirit and Abiding in Christ

Christians are still under law; in fact obeying laws is how we abide in Chirst: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) ”For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments” (1John 5:3) “If you keep my commandments you will abide in my love” (John 15:9) “All...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Wrong yet again - there are married priests in the RCC. Why is it that almost all your beliefs concerning the RCC are wrong?

Is There Different Beliefs Among Catholics? Chrislam Movement?

Says you. The Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is based on the Scriptures, and every doctrine of the Catholic Church is God’s infallible truth, because the CC is “the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1Tim 3:15) and is the “fullness” of Christ (Eph 1:22). You...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The passage (Rev 12) begins with “And a great sign appeared IN HEAVEN, a woman clothed with the sun…”. Verse 3 says, “And another sign appeared IN HEAVEN, behold, a great red dragon”, who cast a third of the stars “DOWN TO THE EARTH”; later (v.9) this same dragon is expelled from “Heaven” and...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Rev 13 refers to “those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus” (Rev 12:17) as the “saints” who are allowed to be “conquered” by the dragon (13:7).

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

As I understand it, the “woman” in Rev 12 has a triple meaning - Israel, the Virgin Mary, or the Church - depending on which part is read. The "twelve stars" are an obvious allusion to Israel. The “child” the “woman” gives birth to is obviously Jesus, so the woman is obviously, Mary, his...
