    Wresting or Reasoning Scripture

It goes before the issue of remaining. To me the issue of "no fruit" is always in reference to "no connection." Faith can be weak in the immature, but it eventually grows and produces fruit (works--from the Spirit). "A man may say" he has faith (Jas 2:18), which is reference to false professors...

    Wresting or Reasoning Scripture

Hi, and I always appreciate the kindness you maintain in your posts! To me, being "cast in the fire" (Jhn 15:6) is always a definite reference to "the lake of fire."

    Wresting or Reasoning Scripture

Hi, and much appreciate your encouraging compliments! I like that the general point of your reply concerns spiritual growth (which all believers continue in), as it is as important (though not salvific-essential) as receiving salvation, for God uses us more as we grow in Christ. Also just wanted...

    Wresting or Reasoning Scripture

Hi! It's okay, but I might be misunderstanding you concerning not replying, which I do when I see replies, unless I haven't seen the reply. Just wanted to address the above comment. It's my understanding that genuine belief is permanent, and is why it is never said to "continue to believe" (not...

    Wresting or Reasoning Scripture

With spiritual growth issues there can be varying beliefs, but only the doctrines that are settled in the “truth” will liberate you from disappointment (Jhn 8:32). Concerning the issue of receiving salvation, there can be no varying beliefs on the essentials of believing in the Lord Jesus’...

    The Spirit of Liberty

In all things, our Father teaches us to know the freedom we have available from now on in the Lord Jesus (but you’ve got to appropriate it in your conscience and walk). That is, the release of the old man’s incurred guilt and “dominion.” It’s the possession of the sin nature (“old” or original...

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

Hi, and it's been a while seeing you. Like your comment and thanks for the reply!

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

Good Scripture application for this issue. I see it that the word "divide" to mean the Word reveals the distinction between the soul and spirit and the body ("joints and marrow"). This distinction reveals they are separate things (soul and spirit), but not that they could be separated, which I...

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

I believe the same, because the soul and the spirit eternally remain together.

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

Knowledge and experience of God comes by Scripture and the Author of it, Spirit of God in you (Rom 8:16). Unless we're not discussing the same religion.

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

Thanks for the good scriptural example. And if I'm not being too particular here, it's also instructional to know that though the word "soul" is used as separate from the body in the NT, the OT uses it often in the sense of the body, and for life, which has only to do with the body, e.g. eternal...

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

We are not in the sin nature as you say (Ro 8:9), which means we are no longer after it or follow it; but it (old man) is in us (Ro 7:12, 14) and is why we keep "putting it off" as to willfully following it (Eph 4:22; Col 3:9). It is written that the old man "is crucified," but nowhere is it...

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

I appreciate your comment, but I may not understand fully of what you mean. It could be that we may vary on what we understand "position" to mean. To me it is where God literally places those reborn, e.g. "in heavenly places" and "in Christ," etc. (Eph 1:3).

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

Hi, and thanks for the reply! Amen there, and I see the continued presence of the old man to serve as an ongoing exercise of our faith in God's forgiveness. Not that His forgiveness can ever change, but that we have increasing rest, understanding and encouragement.

    Romans 6:10—“Unto Sin”

The majority of mankind dies “in” sin (Mat 7:13, 14), but Christ could only die “to” sin because He not only “knew no sin” but also “in Him is no sin” (2Co 5:21; 1Jo 3:5). It’s my belief that “made to be sin” is in the sense of “being made out to be sin”, (e.g. was made only in “the likeness” of...

    Temporal Salvation?

Don't think we're understanding one another, but that's okay, it shouldn't cause us not to want to care about each other, which is what everything is purposed for. Love you in Christ!

    Temporal Salvation?

Not a nice way of putting it, if we are to communicate. Actually often, because my views often very from the average believer, and is why I make the practice of never taking offence, even if intended. I don't seek followers, just other Christians wanting to share their beliefs with one another...

    Service Thoughts

The one great thought of the Holy Spirit in Philippians is to make known the Lord Jesus as the Servant (Phl 2:7; e.g. Mat 12:18; 20:28); and this He does, that He may produce in us truehearted service (Jhn 13:14). There is not a thought of our Father’s love but what we get in “the face of the...

    Temporal Salvation?

Though I appreciate your replies, it appears we differ in most of what we believe. I also feel it needs mentioned that we should avoid being accusative ("twist," and not that I'm offended) because it's not becoming of believers, considering the primary goal is manifest love to one another (just...
