If you read it carefully he was the first to follow God in faith and all (not just Jews) who have faith in God have Abraham as a father - they are Paul's words.

The verse is talking about those under the New Covenant who are capable of sinning but are kept from it by His indwelling presence. I cant understand why folks choose to ignore the verse.

If His indwelling Fear is present in the hearts of the Elect given for the purpose of keeping them from turning away from the Lord - that would effectively seal their salvation.

Yes and Amen... It is easy to forget that God cares about the content of mainstream scripture, which when in the hands of the average person combined with the inspiration of the Author Himself renders more than enough understanding to build salvation faith.
