Is all of the law of Moses finished?

This is a great point. It almost seems that people who think that Christ's sacrifice only covers past sins consider his sacrifice to be a super sacrifice that covers a lot of past sins, but when they need forgiveness for anything after that they have to crucify Christ again.

    Sin unto death cont...

sheeeesh... how many times have I been through this? The Greek word translated every is usually translated all. It can mean every, but doesn't necessarily. It is used figuratively signifying a whole (but not every part). A word study of the NT and LXX will prove this to be true. Again, Jesus...

Is all of the law of Moses finished?

You have to keep in mind that Paul wrote that from a perspective of living both before and after the cross. So that was his point of reference when writing to the Romans. He did not write that letter to us. The Greek word is harmatema (G265), not harmatia (G264). harmatema means sin-effect.

    Sin unto death cont...

Good observation. He is, what I call, a state-of-mind Christian Jesus did not have a condemned nature (if that is what you said). Adam's nature was not condemned before he sinned; Jesus didn't inherit Adam's condemned nature (inheritance is through the father, not the mother) and he never sinned.

Is all of the law of Moses finished?

I think you should probably use your brain. According to your logic Christ did not die for future sins, only past sins. That means your sins are not forgiven because you committed sins nearly 2000 years after he died. Past in Romans 3:25 refers to that which occurred before the cross. The word...

    Reconciled

Why do you ignore so many verses that support exactly what the OP said, and only quote those that seem to support (in your mind) your disobedience?

I don't follow the Westminster confession of faith or John Calvin. You keep totally misrepresenting my position. The prodigal son's restoration to his father was dependent on his repentance. If he had not repented he would never have been restored to his father. Those who rebel against Christ...

Comments to your long post The Greek word is eis. It means into, not as. Therefore, faith is accounted into righteousness, not as righteousness. It's really funny how when I try to be precise you accuse me of straining at gnats, but don't apply the same rule to yourself. Faith is obedience...

Salvation is forgiveness for all sin.

Please pay better attention. I quoted exactly what you said, i,e,, 'faith as righteousness'. I even italicized as for your sake. And I corrected your error by letting you know that it really means faith into righteousness, not faith as righteousness. Faith is merely a conduit into righteousness...

Of course it teaches it. You just have to have spiritual eyes and a spiritual heart to see it. An unbelieving heart can disbelieve anything. Faith is not righteousness, nor is it as righteousness; righteousness is appropriated through faith. One believes into the righteousness of GOD through...

Domestic Discipline - Is It Biblical?

Pat R. used to be one of the leading voices of the evangelical movement in the US, if not the voice. He tried to get the Presidential nomination in 1988. I have to admit that when I posted that link, my tongue was firmly planted in my cheek. It's a parody website, but in this case it came...

I'll update the list. 1st question: I don't know if 'credited to their account' is an accurate expression. Christ's righteous is imputed to those who believe; it becomes their actual nature and who they are in heaven. 2nd question: The bible teaches throughout that GOD deals with mankind...

Is all of the law of Moses finished?

Yes where. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which [he had yet] being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: Romans 4:11 And...

OK, here is my new list of Scott's beliefs: Man does not inherit a corrupted nature from Adam, but is born morally innocent (neither righteous nor unrighteous) Man is not born spiritually dead Adam did not first inwardly corrupt his nature, and then sin from that corrupted nature, but through...
