    One and Triune God.

Well, if we don't substitute the word "Jesus" for "Word." It all makes sense, but we must first discover what the logos actually is. It's not that difficult. Even virtually all Trinitarian scholars understand that the word "logos" means, more or less, a plan. God had a plan from the beginning...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

I appreciate your willingness to discuss this as a brother to a sister. Believe me, it all too often gets ugly really fast when discussing the nature of Jesus and God. I've been told many many times I'm not saved, that I walk in the dark, I'll burn for eternity, and more. It no longer bothers...

    One and Triune God.

Very good, but at least you saw the truth in what he said. It's funny; in my last post I said 2 Timothy 2:15 said, "rightly dividing the Word of God." But how ironic that I misquoted it. It says, "the word of truth." The road is narrow indeed and easy to end up in the boonies! :)

Now that's exactly what I think Paul had in mind when he told Timothy to rightly divide the Word of truth. Excellent job of honest research brother!

    One and Triune God.

The key here in your phrase "Biblical Christianity." Is it really Biblical? In the interest of inclusion. I looked at the rules and I don't see anything that says I have to believe Jesus is God, but if I'm wrong I'll respect the rules and leave. BTW, I do see a mention about respecting other...

    One and Triune God.

You know what they say about an oft repeated lie; it becomes the truth. Two thousand years of a lie is hard to shake. I understand that. But, geez, when presented with clear cut evidence that totally goes against tradition ought to at least cause one to pause and reconsider. Here's the big...

    One and Triune God.

Well, I was hoping to get a specific answer as to why Timothy and Corinthians don't contradict when one is taken to say the Son and the Father are both God whereas the other clearly says only the Father is God. But, alas, all I get is extra-Biblical assertions. I guess Trinitarians don't care...

    One and Triune God.

There is no point in telling me my mind is carnal, that I, as a born again Christian, do not have the mind of Christ. It's just a knee jerk reaction because I said something you disagree with. I know you can do better. Let's stick with the scriptures and leave out the accusations. How is one...

    One and Triune God.

How is one verse saying only the Father is God and another seeming to say God the Son (which phrase is not actually in the Bible, but we'll go with it for now) is also God not a contradiction? Assuming you now see the contradiction, perhaps it could be cleared up by re-examining the part about...

    One and Triune God.

Oh, my. What then are we to do with: 1 Cor 8:6, But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him. Timothy seems to be a glaring contradiction with Corinthians. Yikes! Any ideas on how to...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Well, I don't claim to be an Apostle, if that's what you're thinking. But I have a mouth and I know a little bit about the scriptures, enough to help someone who's suffering or in pain in this world anyway. Eph 4:11-12, 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists...

I didn't think of that one, but it sure says to talk it up! Thanks.

I did, but not anymore! Thanks.

    One and Triune God.

God give all born again believers holy spirit, Christ in them (Col 1:27). I totally disagree with the scriptures not being logical. They are actually the epitome of logic. Maybe you've just never considered that. I know a lot are satisfied to take things by faith, never thinking the faith is...

I believe the verses I quoted.

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Good question. Here's what Wikipedia says: The Church Fathers, Early Church Fathers, Christian Fathers, or Fathers of the Church were ancient and influential Christian theologians and writers who established the intellectual and doctrinal foundations of Christianity. The historical period in...

Thanks. That's our back yard. We still have plenty of apples up here. :)

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Technically, I was wrong to say we are commissioned. I may have been a bit loose in choosing my words. Good catch! However there is this: Acts 8:3-4, 3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed [them] to prison. 4 Therefore they...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

I think it does help, even though it's obvious. That's what the Bereans did in Acts 17.

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Yes, Good point. God did actually commission all of us to preach the Good News. I guess the standard is whether or not what anybody says agrees with the scriptures or not. I suppose it would be wrong to summarily discount everything the Church Fathers said without verifying from the scriptures...
