10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

I've adressed this many times on other threads. THIS thread is about the council at Jerusalem.

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Absolutely true... I only brought Paul's name up because he is being portrayed as under subjection to the Church. He was a Church leader! He's at the top of the hierarchy. The authorities he is said to be under subjection to are at the bottom.

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Just a refresher course on Church Leadership from PAUL... 1 Cor 12:28 And God hath set some in the church: 1. first apostles, (this is where Paul is found in the leadership hierarchy) 2. secondarily prophets, 3. thirdly teachers, 4. after that miracles, 5. then gifts of healings, helps...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Christ put Paul in charge of the Church, Paul served the Church, but no... Paul didn't answer to the Church. Paul did not have to answer to Peter, James, the Council, the Elders nor any partitioners. Again, please tell me what the Church orders to Paul were. I answered this long ago... And...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Name one post I have ignored. Name one question I have ignored. Some of your questions are irrelevant, but I have addressed them.

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

I would like to think you are to believe the scripture. Paul and Barnabas went to Antioch with Judas and Silas. The latter two delivered the message. Thus I believe they carried the actual letter since they read it. Really? Am I right? Did Paul read it to Antioch? Acts 15:27 KJV We have...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Oh really? What did the council tell Paul to do? What did Paul do that he wasn't already doing? WHO delivered the message and why did you omit the 5 verses who tell who did deliver the message? The verses you omitted tell us that Silas and Judas were given the task of giving the ruling...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Folks, I want to update the list of facts and admit I made a mistake: 7. James gave certain conditions to the gentiles. I didn't include it originally because it's not a big secret. He placed the following conditions on the gentiles: 1. Abstain from pollution of idols (food wise). 2...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Fine... I agree and never intended to hint otherwise. Trust me... I don't believe any apostle had universal juristiction... If I did, I wouldn't say it was James! Well it can't be. If Cathics relied only on scripture then no... Peter is not the Pope! It is not my intention to even discuss...

    Judgement

Consider this verse: Psalm 103:6 KJV The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. From what I gather from your question, it seems you are likening judgment with oppression. Not sure really... Juat seems that way. But this verse speaks of God executing judgment to...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

For the sake if clarification, we are discussing Acts 15:1-2 to figure out who exactly called for the Council at Jerusalem. We are trying to figure out who the "they" are in verse two: Perhaps it would be easier to search the scripture: And certain men which came down from Judæa taught the...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Those in verse one. No he wasn't. That's right! He didn't need permission. He wanted the acknowledgement. I don't think he needed it, but ok... I won't argue over the difference between "want" and "need". No I am not. Never said he was a spiritual "lone ranger". Look, first of...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

Acts 15:2-3: When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. 3And being brought on their way by the church, they...

    Does "LAW" matter?

The Law was abolished and done away wirh. It only matters in salvation as a reminder and a schoolmaster. It tells us as a shadow about the law of faith.

Why ask me to provide evidence of hell instead of evidence of peace? Yes, I discussed hell . I also discussed peace. I didn't even refeence heaven. I just discussed peace. So why talk about hell and not peace... Why is it you are querying about hell? Here's a Christian talking to you...

What is different in Acts 15 and Acts 21?

In 2 Cor 3 Paul called the law-even the 10 Commandments- the ministry of death and condemnation. He said it was abolished and done away with. He said it was glorious, but the New Testament IS glorious. He said that if you are still following the law, your heart is blinded.. Hmmm...

10 FACTS about the Council of Jerusalem

....that Christains may not realize. 1. Paul never asked for the Council. In Gal 2:1-2 we learn that he went and was happy to go lest he was preaching or had in vain. Acts 15:2-3 said he went. But nowhere does it say he sought their approval. He wanted it, he got it.i, but never was seeking...

What is different in Acts 15 and Acts 21?

It is contemporary only because they were all alive and active at the time. But WHO preached it first? Paul did. Peter said correctly that he opened the door in verse 7. God however, gave the job to Paul. Remember, the council was about circumcision. Who was it who first preached this...
