    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Luke 1:34-35 says Jesus would be the Son of God. Read the end of verse 35 very carefully. The previous verses also say Jesus would be descended from David. David was a human. God did not descend from anybody let alone a human. In general, Luke is saying that Jesus would born by the miracle of...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Well you made a lot of good points, but too many to address all at once. Let's try one at a time. John 20:28, And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Maybe this could be taken as saying Jesus is God. Let's investigate. Here's Strong's definition of "god:" a god or deity. a...

Why does God have to judge and hurt me?

I agree with her being affected by demons and not God. However, I might point out that all people mocked God at some point in their lives, and yet God was gracious enough to send His only begotten son to die for all of us. I don't think It's as clear cut as you seem to make it.

    God is not a failure

I understand that to be the accepted doctrine, but it's really not that simple. Gen 22:11-12, 11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here [am] I. 12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

John 17:21, That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. You're also one with God and Jesus, but you're still you. You're not God nor Jesus. Better find out exactly being "one" actually...

Why does God have to judge and hurt me?

First of all, I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time. I'd like to suggest that God is not treating you poorly at all. Do you believe in the devil and his cohorts? If so, you might look there for your poor treatment. The word "devil" is the Greek word "diabolos" which litterer means, "a...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Are trying to insinuate that a son can not be his own father? :)

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

As I'm sure you know, we can't ignore any verses in the Bible. We must include all of them. Furthermore there can be no contradictions in God's word, the scriptures. I don't want to say Jesus is God or not. I'm just saying some verses seem to say yes while others say no. Remember, we can't just...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

I've heard that before, but I'm thinking it might be wise to let Jesus sort out who's in and who's out. I can say unequivocally that in my case you are very wrong. I say Yahweh all the time and yet I'm still born again, baptized in holy spirit, and I have a part (small as it may be) in the body...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

Very well put brother. I like what you said about many clear verses over a few unclear verses when it comes to forming one's rule of faith and practice. A workman of God's word simply can't ignore any verse. They must all fit without contradiction. Sometimes that requires one to get into the...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

True, the son is not his own father. It should be that simple, but somehow the meaning of simple words flies out the window and we end up saying that the son and the Father are one and the same. Go figure! You are right about the meaning of the word, "god." Corinthians declares that there are...

    Secure Eternal Salvation 2

Very good post with some excellent points. I would like to interject the following three verses into the discussion (what I'm about to say applies to born again Christians only): 1 Pet 1:23, being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by [the] living and abiding word of...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I see what you are saying, but there is nothing in Acts 2:38 about water. Acts 1:5, For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. This is pretty clear. While true that John baptized with water, Jesus said things will change and they...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

There was no water in the original outpouring of the holy spirit (Acts 2:1-4). There's no water in acts 2:38 either. It's a great verse, but no water. Heb 9:8-10, 8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I think many Christians believed what Jesus said just before ascending into the clouds. I know I'm one of 'em. Acts 1:5, For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. "But" sets that which follows (baptism in holy spirit) with that which...

Following The Commandments in todays world.

Good post. Matt 22:37-40, 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

First of all, I love all Christians, Trinitarian or not! 1 Cor 8:5-6, 5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) 6 But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus...
