Here's a life changing message to everyone.

...took down this post. Frankly I don't want to be a part of this conversation.

Here's a life changing message to everyone.

8-6. 47% passes completed. 17 Touchdowns, 9 interceptions. 12 of his touchdowns were rushing touchdowns. 2422 yards passing. He averaged 5.0 yards per carry rushing which is actually great. That would be decent for a season but not great. Not even very great, overall. But these are his...

Here's a life changing message to everyone.

Can't agree or disagree with that. Players often will get picked up and prolong their careers as backups. Most teams will have 3 QBs and the third one will almost never be starter material. Tim was good enough to hang on that long. On the other hand, he certainly had a following and sold...

Here's a life changing message to everyone.

Tim was good enough to make the NFL roster, but he wasn't good enough to stick around. His biggest asset was he was a hulk of a man who had the speed of someone 50 lbs lighter. Many speculated he should've been moved to tight end. But as far as being an outstanding human being, he far...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

You can ask the question as many times as you want but the answer will still be the same. It is speaking of eternal life because falling away is crucifying Christ again. Christ's death and resurrection were for eternal life, not life here on earth. Look at verse 8: "But that which beareth...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

EXACTLY. Its about eternal security, not his rest here on earth though it does bring that. No. It was HIS sacrifice that was sufficient.

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

Post #30 answered the question. I absolutely agree there is a "rest" here on earth. But it clearly isn't the main reason for Jesus's death. The scriptures I gave say it is about obtaining everlasting life.

But it did adress the questions. Its up to youto answer the questions.you put forth a big theory. When i question it reasonably, its your burden to answer. I haven't proclaimed anythinf: you did. Defend it. Don't put it on me.

Well I got Reggie Jackson, Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Johny Bench, Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver. Greg Nettles and Bill Buckner. Sigh... Its the same reason why I stopped following basketball. It became about the person, not the team.

Does anything at all exist without God?

No. You answer. I gave a verse that says God created evil. Furthermore I submit to you that someone planted the three of the knowledge of good and evil. You tell me who that was. The burden of why God God did this will not be transferred to me to prove. God said he did it. Its up to you...

For what its worth, those names mean much to me. At age 10 I was quite the baseball historian. That ws 1979. I still appreciated baseball lore of the past. I never saw willie mays or ernie banks play... But they are my favorites. I left following baseball in the 80's. Though I amstill...

Does anything at all exist without God?

All things were made by God and without God, nothing was mafe. John 1. Even evil was created by God (Isa 45:7). Can they exist without God? Well thwy can continue to exist without God for a time. But they cannot have ever existed unless the Lord created them.

My feelings are mixed but leaning on not minding side conversations. I like to stay on point and prefer it. But sometimes some interesting stuff happens by getting off the path. If this were a purely academic, scholarly and peer reviewed board I would see to objections. But it isn't. Its...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

Hebrews 10 says we are sanctified by the offering of Jesus Christ once for all. Jesus does not reappear every generation to die for them. He mafe one sacrifice for all generations. If after you get that and are enlightened and benefit from it, then turn away its like killing Jesus again. He...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

I may have to do research on it, but my knowledge of the subject leads me to believe the messiah would be more of a military general who would rid the Hebrews of Roman rule and give the (literal) promised land back to them. Yet that wasn't eber part of Jesus's agenda. He spoke of obtaining a...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

Ok thanks. Here is my commentary: Hebrews 6:3 KJV And this will we do, if God permit. What is it that Paul and the Hebrews were going to do if permitted by God? The answer is "go on to perfection". To do so they had to leave the principles of the doctrine of Christ. He lists them...

Perhaps slightly related: Judaism 101: Olam Ha-Ba: The Afterlife This artcle is interesting in that it claims: Judaism believes in an afterlife but has little dogma about it The Jewish afterlife is called Olam Ha-Ba (The World to Come) Resurrection and reincarnation are within the range of...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

Here are the unofficial Cliff Notes to Stranger's writings: 1. Many Jewish Christians accepted Jesus, but still had a hard time letting go of the Law. 2. Not letting go of the Law created Havoc in their lives as well as the life of Paul and many of the gentiles (I don't remember Stranger...

Explanation of the warning in Heb.6:1-8

Soul Man and @GodsGrace: Hopefully Stranger won't mind me answering. Stranger gave a lot of background info which I found facinating and pertinent to his point. If you want a summary of his point, read the very last paragraph of his last installment (post #10). Here it is for your easy reading:
