Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Rom. 10:13-15 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they...

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Water baptism is a command of Christ. It's a ceremony performed by another man, you cannot baptize yourself. If that ceremony, as Pearl said, is performed in the right mindset, a symbol of your initial salvation being buried in Christ, it is accepted by God. If that ceremony is made a...

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

That's what Paul believed also! Eph. 1:13 " In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," No water baptism here!

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

So is your faith in Jesus for salvation or the guy who baptized you. Water baptism is a work of another man on your behalf. So if you have faith in that your faith is works.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

And that baptism in Rom. 6 is spiritual and not the physical water baptism.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit........ See the comparison? The focus is entering into the Kingdom of God. Man born of water must be reborn to enter the Kingdom.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

I'm not a doctor but I believe every human born in this world comes out of a sack of water. This is the natural birth through water.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Jesus was comparing the natural birth to the spiritual birth. One must be born to live this life, and one must be reborn to enter into heaven.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Some believe if the word baptism is said, it means water. As clearly seen in scripture that is not the case! They refuse to see the spiritual aspect of salvation.

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Paul is not speaking of water baptism when he said, "we are baptized into Christ." He is speaking of being spiritually baptized into Christ, in Christ not water! This is the "regeneration" Paul speaks of, the spiritual baptism into Christ at the point of believing, the new birth. The idea is...

What Must We Do to Be in Heaven?

We do what the Apostle Paul told us to do, "walk in the Spirit." That means that we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide us through this life by our faith in what Christ did for us. Faith in Christ gives the Holy Spirit the legal right to operate in our lives. Without Him we have no hope, but...

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

To add anything to faith in what Christ did on the Cross is saying that wasn't enough, I have to do this or that to add to it. You have no part in your salvation but to believe! Believing you must have faith AND be water baptized is playing a part in your salvation. You have taken Grace and...

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

What did John mean by "born of water and born of the Spirit? "Born of water" is the natural birth, in contrast to "born of the Spirit" which is the spiritual birth. Neither have anything to do with water baptism!

God will remove His people from planet earth before the greatest calamities begin.

Rev. 3:10 "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

I've learned a few things on these forums through the years and one of them is not to waste time arguing with a commandment keeper! They hated Paul for preaching the Gospel of Grace then and they hate us now who preach the same!

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

Paul had recently been stoned for preaching against the law of Moses (circumcision) for salvation. Now in Acts 15:1-2 he is facing the same people at the church in Antioch. These people had ties with the church at Jerusalem and Paul wanted to settle it by going to James, the head pastor of the...

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

We know that Peter had access to Paul's epistles, he mentions them in his own 2nd epistle. If Peter had access I would think the others did also.

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

I'll go as far to say the 12 apostles learned most of the meaning of the New Covenant from Paul. Through listening to him in personal conversation and reading his epistles.

Ephesians 3. Paul vs The Other Apostles & Prophets

By the time of the Council at Jerusalem, where the apostles were to determine what to do about the Gentiles being saved, should they observe the Law as the Jews or not, Paul had already been on his first missionary journey to the Gentiles. He was already preaching the meaning of the New...

What does the Lord require of you!

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Micah 6:8 If the born-again believer will practice honesty, show mercy, and walk in humility, he shall do well in the eyes of the Lord! These...
