    Mary, Queen of Heaven

Because it says she was a virgin UNTIL Jesus was born. What is the big deal about Mary having sex like every other wife, anyway?

    Mary, Queen of Heaven

It's not a dodge. How can you base anything on hear-say?

    Mary, Queen of Heaven

What is a lie? That your pope endorses same-sex marriage?

"It appears.." is very shakey ground.

If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

Galatians 2:16 Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. Romans 3:28...

    Mary, Queen of Heaven

I'm not picking the most recent teaching I'm staying with scripture. If it doesn't address an issue, I sure am not going to agree with a made up a doctrine about it.

I'm pointing out the obvious: There was no consensus in the early church on perpetual virginity. How important is that? Not very, but you seem to imply that everyone just accepted it as fact when they didn't. Unless you have quotes from Irenaeus and the others confirming perpetual virginity to...

Yes, but those are the results of faith. Faith does produce works, but only faith saves. Jesus said mustard seed faith would move mountains. Faith does act, but those acts aren't earning us salvation.

It's the pledge that saves, then, obviously. If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart you will be saved, whether there's water involved or not.

It was on Catholic radio, told by a priest or catholic teacher. So are last rites necessary or not?

History isn't important. Truth is. Yes the church embraced many false teachings, based on tradition instead of scripture. I'm not concerned about what Jorome said. I'm concerned about what scripture says. How old a teaching is is also really not the issue, although many varied beliefs about many...

Nope, wrong. Paul makes a strong distinction between faith and works. It's not about the definition in the dictionary. You remind me of Catholics saying last rites are necessary for salvation, unless there's no priest available..what? Either they are necessary or they're not. And there's scads...

That would be salvation by works. If there's exceptions, that you can't support with scripture, you are literally just guessing who can be saved and who can't. Which is why it's so important to understand salvation is not by works. Not by baptism, not keeping the Sabbath, not taking the...

What is the difference between being saved and not perishing?

So, you aren't saved before you are baptized? The thief on the cross could not have gone to paradise if that were true. The verse in Peter plainly says that the water doesn't save you, so how can you have it both ways? There's lots of people that come to God on their death beds and can't be...

    Which woman would you take?

I do believe that they exist. But beauty is relative, and a mean woman is never truly beautiful.

1 Peter 3:21 clearly makes the point that baptism does not save us. Notice the apostle Peter refers to baptism and then says, “not the removal of dirt from the flesh.” He is not referring to water baptism. Baptism has a symbolic meaning of repentance—”good conscience.” Corresponding to that...

If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

1Co_15:1-4 Paul did not make water baptism a part of his gospel message and went so far as to say that Christ did not send him to baptize but only to spread the gospel message. 1Co_1:17 This would seem to be a major oversight if water baptism were indeed necessary as no one would have been...

If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

You can make the Bible say anything if you only use half a verse. It says that he who doesn't believe isn't saved right after the first one you quoted and the other verse also says that it's not the water that saves. Why did you leave out the parts the explain what is being said? and this...

Jesus didn't sacrifice himself to Beelzebub, he sacrificed himself for us. Big and important difference.
