What is the one true Church?

Well it isn't an issue anyway if I'm wrong in seperating petra and petros. Jesus is the beginner.. builder and Head of the local New Testament church that is obviously seen in the rest of the NT. The chief cornerstone. So Peter becomes one of the pastors (called shepherd) of the churches Jesus...

What is the one true Church?

Hang on.. koine Greek is the translation we are looking at here. Petra and Petros is what is used by Strongs concordance. But aside from that.. context shows it is Jesus as the foundation.. the builder and Head of the church further as we go thru the NT.

What is the one true Church?

Scripture and scripture alone defines what the true church is. So in Matthew 16:18, we see Jesus saying 'on this rock I will build my church ' He says it while talking with Peter. He gives a different word for Peter's name.. meaning small rock or piece of rock. Jesus name as the Rock.. is...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

That body in view is the local body at Corinth. 'Ye are the body of Christ' ..ye is the church at Corinth

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Right... I agree. So when the Holy Spirit 'baptises' the disciples at Pentecost as a group.. 'with fire' ... This isn't getting saved. The disciples were surely converted before Pentecost. So.. these are the instances I see in scripture of Spirit baptism. Which reoccur in Acts. Of whole...

    Eternal salvation vs daily service

Well, then the question is.. which is also part of the crux of the matter.. is .. Is believing on the Lord Jesus Christ-- a work? I would say no. Because it is initiated by the Holy Spirit who does the drawing and the saving. But I am guessing you would have salvation happening before the...

    Eternal salvation vs daily service

Scripture does have the Holy Spirit convicting a sinner of their need for eternal life before they can believe. Without this conviction..the salvation can't happen..so I can at least agree in part.

    Eternal salvation vs daily service

Alot of context missing here, Robert. The Bible indeed does interpret itself.. but He who endures to the end verse.. the subject isn't receiving eternal life. Its a different type of 'save'

    Eternal salvation vs daily service

Yes.. got ask what is being saved from here. Is it saved as in deliverance from hell.. or deliverance from trials?

    Eternal salvation vs daily service

There is always a debate, and usually heated on once saved always saved and not osas. To me, the crux of the matter is context of scripture. A verse, unless containing enough meaning in itself.. does not stand aside from the verses and chapter and book around it. So when looking at the...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Having a look at Holy Spirit baptism in scripture.. where are the instances where it doesn't happen only to a whole group of christians?

What does it mean to be born again?

Yes in Revelation there are different judgments for the unbelieving.. the converted.. and the converted and faithful. Converted.. still in heaven but miss rewards.. works burned up. No gold and silver figuratively. Converted and faithful.. works burned and refined...gold and silver...

What does it mean to be born again?

The book of John is assuring believers they may know they have eternal life. Not that they might.. but if they have believed in Jesus as God.. that He died and rose again.. that He lived sinless... by entrusting their salvation with Him.. they have eternal life. It's not a wait for it thing...

    Renewable Salvation

No.. saved once, and for all. Eternal life beginning at the moment of salvation. Good works though are the thankful response for that having taken place. A thank you back to Jesus for being the freedom giver. When you look at James 2-- you see the line 'faith without works is dead' But then...

    Renewable Salvation

This is always the case in these discussions... Mixing up what a believer does having already received salvation.... THE faith.. with the first initial salvation... saving faith. So a verse like 'faith without works is dead ' gets used for initial salvation.. when it's context is acts of...

To be born again... Lesson #1

This is true. It's better to look how we are forgiven as believers and look in faith toward God and His will for us.. than dwell in thinking about sin. (Eph 4:21) If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: (Eph 4:22) That ye put off concerning the...

To be born again... Lesson #1

I agree with almost completely.. but query the statement something like salvation isn't a sinner getting saved but a Saint believing. I don't get you on this bit. Faithful believers are called saints.. but they also sin like every human being. They are in fact still sinners. They can sin...

    Works Salvation is FALSE

you've only gotta be saved once. Jesus' salvation is once and for all :) That's the good news. Hebrews 6-- is a passage that gets taken out of context and isn't about losing salvation. It's about the impossibility of putting Christ back on the cross to save you again.. because it's already...

    Works Salvation is FALSE

But christians fail in loving their neighbour, being kind and generous.. being forgiving and selfish. They aim to do these things of course, but never get it 100 percent right. That's why following commands aren't the way of salvation.. but by grace through faith in Jesus alone. Without Jesus...

    Works Salvation is FALSE

Inheritance in the Kingdom is different to entrance. Inheritance is being given rewards at the end .. rewards for faithful service. Entrance is John 3 and Romans 10. You gotta put the likes of the book of John alongside warnings of discipline and rebuke for believers. Your own parents...
