Trump using the Bible as a prop...

@Stan B has been critical about my support for President Trump, but he does have one good point. As Christians we are to pray for our leaders. God has placed President Trump, Vice President Pence, Speaker Pelosi, ect. in place for His purposes. God put Presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton in...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

Wrong, but nice smoke screen. Romans 3:21-26 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

I agree with Scripture. I know you like your theory and it is an interesting philosophy. But it is not Scripture.

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

Stan, I have no idea what you are talking about. I posted that I support President Trump. You responded that this means I serve another god. This happened twice. How can you accuse me of idolatry simply because I support President Trump and his platform yet claim you do as well? Your...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

Yes. While it is debatable "propitiation" is the proper English word (I believe it is) that does not prove your point. I agree with the verse. In Christ we do escape the wrath to come. But like I said, you are completely unable to provide a verse stating that God punished Jesus instead of...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

I do not think those who hold Penal Substitution Theory realize they deny the cross. The theory is so deep in their tradition they see it as "taught" even though it is absent Scripture itself. The strange thing is they deny continued special revelation yet somehow cling to the myth even though...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

People believe the Bible teaches many false doctrines. The issue is Penal Substitution Theory is foreign to the Biblical text and was foreign to Christianity for over a millenia and a half after the formation of the Church. You say it is "taught" by Scripture but can only rely on 16th century...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

And with Scientology men are seeded by aliens on Venus. There are many interesting theories, but we need to stick with the Bible - not Scientology and not Penal Substitution Theory.

Was the death on the cross necessary?

Exactly. That is what the PSA indoctrinated cannot understand. God is just and merciful.

Was the death on the cross necessary?

The problem with Penal Substitution Theory is that it is entirely foreign to Scripture. It is a philosophical theory developed in the 16th century. Other theories may be flawed but at least they are centered on Scripture rather than philosophy. Penal Substitution Theory has just enough...

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

I am addressing you. You accused me of idolatry in post 52 because I support President Trump Evert time I expressed support for President Trump you responded that I was serving a false god. That led me to believe you are a Democrat insulting anyone who expresses support for President Trump...

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

I got the impression because when I said that I like and support President Trump in post # 52 you responded that I was serving another god. How does my support of President Trump equate to serving a false god? How does my support of President Trump equate to "hating Trump"? I cannot make...

    Ignore Button Questions

Ok....I have a confession. Before I used the "ignore button" I tried voodoo dolls....but they didn't work. :D

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

Hold up! You accused me of idolatry because I support President Trump (post 52). How is that appropriate on a Christian forum?????

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

Rita, I think the context was the photo op and the circumstances surrounding the riots (that we will not give in to hate and violence). Unfortunately sometimes (like statements on these boards) what is communicated is not always the initial intent.

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

I notice you can't even bring yourself to say "President Trump". Why do you "hate Trump"? And why do you insist that I worship another God because I support President Trump? Those of us who support our President do not worship him. That is the lie the Democrats have fed you. We know he is...

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

I said that I like and support President Trump and his platform. This does not mean I worship President Trump. He does not represent my faith, only my political platform. Stop bowing down to the Democrat Party. That is the problem with you anti-Trump folk. You deny the legitimacy of Trump's...

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

I am a bit apolitical in the sense that I simply do not care about most of the issues (at least as it relates to politics). But the one factor that does influence my vote is abortion. Were all politicians equally against abortion then perhaps I'd go to a second priority, but that has not happened.

Trump using the Bible as a prop...

I do like Trump and support a lot of what he has accomplished and seeks to accomplish. But with the Bible, I believe he is pandering. I hope I am wrong, but it seems that this "conversion" has been mostly if not entirely for political gain as his platform mostly aligns with the Christian...

Was the death on the cross necessary?

I am actually reevaluating my view on Hell and like you I am not going down that path here. Some see any disagreement with their view or position as a threat and try to censure or defeat anyone who dares question their tradition. There are some things I will (at least for now) work out on my...
