    Can God sin?

Amen Brother! We Agree on this.

    Can God sin?

In case this was not clear...I do not believe that God causes suffering... rather he allows it.Not saying you were accusing me of such an accusation :P, but it's always good to reiterate such a statement!Praised be God for good and respectful discussion.

    God does not drag all....

I don't have a problem admitting that God gives more blessings to some... I do believe that though he loves everyone perfectly, he loves some more than others in a sense. The problems I have with this occur when the following statements are made:1) God does not love all people--God does love...

    Teshuvah vs. Metanoia

Can anyone enlighten me as to the difference between the Hebrew Teshuvah and the Greek Metanoia? I've been doing a bit of research on them myself, but would like to get other perspectives. Thanks,

    Can God sin?

Brother Mike,I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one ;) since this issue is rooted heavily in my Churches doctrine.

    Can God sin?

If God doesn't make good come from evil, then why does he allow sin to occur? Free-will? I can agree with that. But wouldn't an almighty, all-loving God bring life from even death? This can, in my opinion, be seen in natural disasters. From floods, Tsunami's, hurricanes, and earthquakes, we...

    Can God sin?

Well obviously sin is evil, and any discussion of sin should necessarily discuss evil as in many ways they are synonomous. Therefore, if God controls evil... God controls sin does he not? Please correct me if I'm wrong... but it sounds as though this goes back to the question about whether or...

jn 4:42 The Saviour of the World

You'd think this debate would get old after repeated disagreement time and time again...

jn 4:42 The Saviour of the World

Oh that's interesting... I didn't know Truth came in only one language. I also don't know anyplace in Scripture where it says that latin is the language of Babylon... in fact, I've heard that Latin is actually the only language that the Devil hates.

    Pre-destination / Election

Which is why I believe "Text, Context, and "Point of View" (modern day application). Those contradictions are ones that cannot co-exist. I'm saying merely that on a surface and textual level, there appears to be contradictions (which can co-exist), but when it comes to the greater truth of the...

    Pre-destination / Election

"There is no contradiction in Gen when it understood right "That's pretty much what I'm saying... I'm saying in a factual/ surface lvl sense there is some form of contradiction...

    Pre-destination / Election

How about Genesis... were humans created 1st (Gen 2) or last (Gen 1)? Was Joseph the son of Jacob (Mt) or Heli (Lk)? Did Solomon have 40K stalls of horses (1 kings) or 4K (2 Chronicles)? In the specific sense the Bible has these types of contradictions"]purely literally[/U]... however, the...

    Pre-destination / Election

So, in your opinion, how are we to interpret Scripture? To be honest i've seldom heard of anyone not believing in free will... I realize that there are various interpretations of it, but to say that it is understood but not believed by most is a shocking statement to me. Anyway, #2 is the one...

    Pre-destination / Election

Very good and humble argument my friend... I respect everything you said.Quote: "but since the bible does not contradict itself, and mutually exclusive positions cannot both be right, the one of us is right and one is wrong".1) I think the Bible, in some sense, does contradict itself, although...

    God does not drag all....

I'm thinking its probably my religious upbringing... but I'm having trouble with this idea that God does not call/drag/draw everyone to him. My thought has always been that since God wants to be united with all of his children, that he calls (or drags) everyone to himself. Can someone help me...

    Pre-destination / Election

I'm going to take a lot of flak for this probably... but I disagree with your interpretation of the scripture. God cannot lead us to sin... and so just because he knew before hand that they would sin, and thus planned accordingly does not mean that He led them to the sin...they did not sin...

    Pre-destination / Election

"I said man is not free to sin..God ordains what sin man committs.."It doesn't make sense that God ordains us to sin... that he leads us to it. God is perfectly good, the essence of Goodness, whose sole desire is for us to be united to him.... it is against his nature to order us to do evil...

    1948 Or 1967

"So in my opinion, I find your statement rather absurd. "Don't get me wrong... End times is one of my favorite theological topics. And i realize that my statement taken as is was rather absurd. Let me clarify: I think trying to pinpoint the exact year or date is superflous. I believe rather...

    1948 Or 1967

Personally I think the discussion of when the end-time will come is somewhat pointless... we should all just live our lives in preparation for it.Matthew 24:36
