Did God send Paul to Jerusalem?

Paul would not need to be warned that danger awaited, as he was always in danger. He even got that wrong as he thought that he faced death but was arrested instead. Taken away from his ministry could not have been God's will.

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

Yes me too. My understanding of scripture is that, God's wrath is towards sin and the only way to escape it is for the blood of Jesus to free us from the devil's deceptions. For those who are led by the Spirit. Either the Spirit or the flesh, no mixture. It is either feeding from the tree of...

Did God send Paul to Jerusalem?

This subject has come up recently in another thread, but I thought that it would be of interest, if more time could be spent on it. Acts 21:4. God speaks to the Apostle Paul through believers, saying he should not go to Jerusalem but Paul is not listening. He has made up his mind and is...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

LOL it does not seem so. I agree entirely with this. Reaching chapter 8 is the promised land - in this life, freed from the presence of sin. My opinion is that salvation means being delivered from the state wherein we are not as God intended ie as sinners and is the end result of the salvation...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

Yes amen. Thanks @Lizbeth I have now finished the Andrew Murray book I was reading, which reminded me of how his writings are often a labour of love to read, as he does tend to ramble on. I was pleased to find that his interpretation of Romans 7 is the same as the early church, whereas today...

The devil's lie in Christian music

Indeed - not many Protestants left. Where is Amigo by the way?

The devil's lie in Christian music

It is the video that I posted. I agree it is full of heresy. You must have missed the one from MatthewG which I objected to.

The devil's lie in Christian music

You are getting confused. I posted the video in the OP from the Voice of Truth Ministries on the worship services. Matthew has removed his offensive video now.

The devil's lie in Christian music

Did you actually watch it? The one @MatthewG posted not mine? The depiction of Jesus has him cussing. It's a skit not an exposure. That's okay with you?

The devil's lie in Christian music

@MatthewG I would appreciate it if you would remove the video you posted on this thread. I consider it to be blasphemous, as well as showing a scantily clad female. I don't see what it has to do with this thread anyway, as I can't imagine any true Christian would be happy to watch it, whereas...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

@MatthewG I have repeatedly said that holiness is living from the power of a holy God not in ones own strength so therefore, as you continue to misrepresent me I am closing this discussion with you. No hard feelings.

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

@MatthewG Being set apart is just one half of it. Throughout the OT, it speaks of objects being set apart, and the reason for it is for the cleansing. To say that God can only manage a partial cleansing is not how the Bible presents the image. I would sack my cleaner if she only part cleansed...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

@Lizbeth Taking a break from going through Andrew Murray's book, written in South Africa in 1888, I found the website for Faith Mission Edinburgh, and listened to a podcast about holiness. It spoke about Keswick theology and reminded me of the main difference between that and the holiness...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

Easy to be done once we are walking in the Spirit, when our power and strength comes from Him. And it comes when we see that it has already been done and faith in that enables it. All it needs is a drastic submission of the whole of ourselves. The not yet is simply caused by lack of faith in...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

I am sorry you were disappointed @MatthewG but I was already in conversation with @Lizbeth when you came along to challenge the ancient doctrine that was very much alive and kicking amongst the disciples of the apostles, and which has at various times, been difficult to find in the church but...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

Indeed these are dark days. The holiness denominations grew out of the Holiness Movement that swept America and indeed they taught a later baptism of the Spirit which later Pentecostals said was for power and not the emphasis of the holiness churches on holiness being the result. One of the...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

I agree that we are to use the story of the Israelites as our example, and the three stage theology is in line with this. They were already followers and worshippers of Almighty God and during their journey fell captive to the law as we do when once having an encounter with the living God, we...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

@MatthewG It is true that flesh will never become perfect and that is why we must see it as crucified with Christ and dead to sin, the devil and the world. Satan repeats to every soul, his early deception however, in telling a man that perfect obedience is not expected by God, who in truth...

    Uncovering the Devil's Strategy

Yes there is a period of learning that all our works are as filthy rags, and there is always something that spoils even the best of our attempts of obedience, a stain of imperfection that we cannot go beyond, and a pure heart must be formed in us when He is formed in us and we are entirely His...
