The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Because that’s my personal belief, I (grafted branch) have a hard time believing that anyone who doesn’t interpret 2 Thessalonians 2:4 the only one true way doesn’t have the Holy Spirit working in their lives. Ok, I agree. I haven’t heard anyone on this forum claim they believe the Bible says...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Right, you didn’t say that and I don’t believe that either. Would you then say each of the Amil, Premil, and Preterist views of 2 Thessalonians 2 are taught by the Holy Spirit, even though each of the views don’t agree with each other?

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Yea, that’s probably the key thing, it has to be explicitly stated in the Bible, like Jesus is the Messiah. John 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Well, I don’t want to get into that debate but those who believe in a 70AD coming do back it up with scripture that says things like “last hour” and “I am coming soon”. I know you have an interpretation that explains why those phrases were used and why there was still approximately 2,000 years...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Sure, if we know Jesus didn’t come in 70AD then that makes sense. Someone may argue that it takes spiritual discernment to know that there was a coming in 70AD and therefore your argument doesn’t make sense. You have used physical evidence and logic in the past to conclude that there wasn’t a...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

A preterist could claim that Jesus has already returned and then refer to 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 and say the Holy Spirit teaches that, and those who don’t believe that way don’t have spiritual discernment. I don’t think that would be a correct way of using those verses but nevertheless someone...

    The Beast Revelation

Sure, if that is what the future holds for believers then they should consider it pure joy. James 1:2Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

    The Beast Revelation

He causeth all … to receive a mark …. If I understand you correctly, you’re interpreting this as a governmental law that is enacted. Currently we have laws on the books that are openly not being enforced, we have sanctuary cities where they are not enforcing immigration laws. If your scenario...

    The Beast Revelation

Right now I can’t legally buy or sell cocaine, but if I really wanted to buy some I could go through the black market and get some. Currently, with all the different cryptocurrencies and various money laundering schemes, it’s almost insulting to claim no one will be able to buy or sell without...

    The Beast Revelation

Thanks for the interesting post. In Revelation 13:5, power is given to the beast to continue forty two months. Do you see people voluntarily accepting the mark of the beast happening only during the forty two months or is the mark of the beast available for people to accept during a different...

    The Beast Revelation

Paul categorizes sin into two categories, with fornication being the only sin that takes place in the body. Since you have the MOB being a sin, that means Paul is clearly addressing it because he’s talking about all sins. You either have to equate the MOB with fornication, say it takes place...

    The Beast Revelation

Well, there are other sins such as getting drunk and gluttony which involve a person’s body but when I look at the next verse, 1 Corinthians 6:19, it seems that Paul is specifically referring to our body as the temple. So it could be thought of as fornication involves sin in the holy of holies...

    Update on World System.

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying that as believers we should examine everyone who has governmental authority over us and determine whether they are true believers or not. Then after we make that determination we can know whether or not we should obey the laws of that government. Is...

    The Beast Revelation

Ok, so now we’re getting somewhere. If the MOB is a sin against the soul not the physical body even if it is literal and physical, then a believer can get the literal and physical MOB while remaining faithful to Christ, right? I mean if a believer who has the mental capacity of a child gets...

    The Beast Revelation

Well yea, it’s obvious 1 Corinthians 6:18 is speaking about fornication, but you didn’t address the issue of it being a sin against the body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Can you give us...

    The Beast Revelation

You gave no explanation, how about you tell us why you think 1 Corinthians 6:18 has nothing to do with the mark of the beast. Is it that 1 Corinthians 6:18 isn’t talking about a person’s physical body? If both 1 Corinthians 6:18 and the mark of the beast are referring to a physical body then...

    The Beast Revelation

Ok, so why does 1 Corinthians 6:18 say sexual immorality is the only sin against the body, if the mark of the beast is a sin and it’s something a person does to their body?
  18. G

    The Beast Revelation

Why not? Because 1 Corinthians 6:18 say the only sin against your body is fornication. I would think the mark of the beast would qualify as a sin, whether it’s something done to your body or not. Or would you say the mark of the beast isn’t a sin for a believer, and they can go ahead and get the...

    The Beast Revelation

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. The mark of the beast can’t be a microchip implanted into a body.

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Yea, I agree, saying the greatest tribulation ever could be a figure of speech. The absolute greatest tribulation that ever will be in the Bible would be to die unsaved and cast into the lake of fire. I don’t know anyone who has the GWT taking place in Matthew 24:21, so it’s a figure of speech...
