Of what value is retribution against humankind to God? - Love your enemies?

I find it strange that someone so intelligent and with so much biblical knowledge cannot understand the gospel. God so Loved the world ( people ) that he sent his Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. God loves those who hate him and what he represents...

You ever here this question from non-believers? Why did God kill in the OT and say Love others in the NT ?

Without faith Jesus's death is meaningless. The post I replied to was implying that all people can face death because of Jesus death. That is not correct.

Inspired or inspiring? - The case for biblical inerrancy and inspiration.

Christians are saved by faith in Jesus's death and resurrection, they show their love for him through their works.

You ever here this question from non-believers? Why did God kill in the OT and say Love others in the NT ?

Sorry I missed the comma, it should have read. No, Christians worship a God who died and rose again. Not no Christians worship.

You ever here this question from non-believers? Why did God kill in the OT and say Love others in the NT ?

God judges all mankind because he is there creator and has the legal and moral right to judge mankind. Jesus died and rose to redeem those who will believe in him. His death has nothing to do with how we face death.

Scripture says "in His Name, the Gentiles will trust" - what will 'Evolutionist Gentiles' trust in Jesus?

You are assuming that most people.e start with a relationship with Jesus. In my experience most people only know Jesus as a swear word.

I am awful at saving money, please pray for me (slowly?)

Charles Dickens got it right with Mr Macawber. " Income 20 shillings, expenditure 19 shillings result happiness. Income 20 shillings expenditure 20 shillings and six pence result misery. " One has to list every item that has to be paid over a month. Rent/mortgage, fuel, water, travel costs...

Inspired or inspiring? - The case for biblical inerrancy and inspiration.

No one can be a Christian without using their mind, equally no one can be a Christian without accepting that questions have answers that whether we like those answers we have to accept them.

    Jesus dying on the cross

There a story that is sometimes told about how the lost, the isolated, the rejected, the abused a.l got together to accuse God of not caring, of not understanding what they suffered and how each group stood up saying let God be, rejected, isolated, abused, tortured etc etc etc Then they...

Inspired or inspiring? - The case for biblical inerrancy and inspiration.

You are well aware of how the bible was formed and if you don't know there are plenty of boo,s and Web sites that can educate you about it. If the bible is not regarded as God's word then what is seen in this forum becomes even more endemic, the proliferation of ideas based on one or two...

According to Catholics, are non-Catholic "Christians" actually followers of Christ?

If there is no salvation outside of the church then those who are not of that church are not Christian. This is the official position of the RCC and of the Orthodox churches.

Youth and the Unending Cycle of Learning

Two things. The perception of time changes as one ages. Can you remember how long summer used to be, those endless days and how far away Christmas used to be or how long a Sunday service seemed. Time passes at different perceptions and for the young life is an eternity. Today's spiritual...

    Can non-Christians go to Heaven?

Welcome to the forum and for your question. May I ask you a question? How would you define a Christian? What makes someone a Christian? That's two questions, but without knowing the answer to them you cannot begin to answer your question. Can I as an...

The authority of the church over the believer. - The Body of Christ versus the institutional church

Discussion questions: - What authority does the church have over the believer? - What if a believer rejects that authority? - What if a church exercises their authority to put you out of the church? - Are those put out of the church outside the Body of Christ? - Does the institutional church...

Is Church Discipline Applicable to us today?

Is Church Discipline Applicable to us today? As Christians who follow the teachings of Christianity as found in the bible, we belong to a local church and are subject to the discipline of that church. That does not mean we are not subject to the laws of the land nor that we are servants of the...

    So back to charity again

Giving to the poor/charity is a requirement for Christians. The question is how to do this? Most of us have to use charity organisations, we aren't able to personally train a person needing it., equally we have to rely on the charities to use wisely the donations they are given. That said...

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

You ask an interesting question about those Christian leaders who co operated I the recognition of what books formed the bible. I have an equally interesting question. What qualifies you to question the formation of the bible? How fluent are you in ancient Greek, Hebrew, dramatic and Latin...

NATO is a dead corpse, and it is not Trump's fault

And Trumps view is any better? Yet you ignore the evidence that Putin started this war, and has repeatedly violated any truces. Now this is rich, a one party state wants elections in a country it is attacking, where large parts of the population have fled! A case of the 'pot calling the kettle...
