Did Jesus inherit sinful flesh nature?

John 1:1 says that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God". It goes on to say in John 1:9 that the Word, was the "True Light" and in John 1:14 that "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" Thus, what or who was the...

Did Jesus inherit sinful flesh nature?

You haven't sinned because Adam sinned. You sinned because you, like Adam, chose to sin. We all start out just like Adam started out, i.e., sinless. We become sinners once we sin. Having sinned, we become dead in (our) trespasses and sins. We were once spiritually alive and then became...

Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

If that were true, then you could go backward or forward in time as you please. But you can't. It is not simply an idea. Time is a physical quantity. It can be measured. When we say God is outside of time, we mean that he is not constrained by time. There is no indication in God's word that...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

Nothing in post 681 treats Mark 16:16 as a logical IFF function. Interestingly, although I believe that it truly is an IFF function, it is not Mark 16:16 that states it to be so.

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

As someone I won't name here said, "How can you say you believe (have faith) in God and not do what He says?"

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

Yeah, I am quite familiar with IF A and B then C. If both A and B are true, then C is true. If either A or B is not true, it doesn't matter whether the other is true or not. Why bother to address it? It is not an IF and only IF A and B then C. Thus knowing the condition of C says nothing...

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

Logic demands that in Mark 16:16 both believing and being baptized are the conditions for being saved. The conjunction is "and" which means that both serve as conditions together. The logic demands that if either is lacking, then the condition for being saved has not been met.

What is the initial evidence of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

Then why would you assume that the believer who was not baptized would be saved? I don't think there is any place in the NT that says or even suggests that.

What is the difference between the indwelling Spirit and the Baptism with the Holy Spirit?

I sincerely believe that the Baptism in/with/by the Holy Spirit is the indwelling Holy Spirit.

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

But you can even though it is not there. That figures. There seem to be a lot of that in your posts.

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

Hebrews 12:2 definitely speaks about OUR faith, not the faith of Jesus.

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

The interesting thing about Hebrews 11 is that it is sometimes called, or referred to as. the Bibles Hall of Fame. And for all the examples of faith of so many of the Key elders, patriarchs, etc, there is no mention of Jesus Christ as a major example of one with faith. For me that says it all...

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

I might understand #86 if posted there were the proper translations/interpretations of those passages: Gal 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in...

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

Define what you think "faith of Jesus" means. And please do so with respect to the Biblical definition of faith as given in Hebrews 11:1 (ESV) Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the...

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

Yes, I know you don't. And that is sad.

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

All men are in focus in that passage. It is only those with a predisposition biased by the teachings of Augustine, Calvin and others of similar confusion that fail to see the truth.

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

It doesn't say that anywhere in Romans 5.
  18. J

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

It is the same "many" in both cases. Romans 5:18 Rom 5:18 Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

    THE FAITH OF CHRIST

The sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross was the basis for God's justification of all who believe. Faith is the means whereby one is justified by God. The believer is justified. Faith is what separates those who are justified from those who are not. Justification is not the source or the...
