    Christian or not?

A Christian is a disciple of Christ, whom loves Him as their Savior. That’s it. It’s not about passing a theology test or action test- though those are super important. We learn and grow more in those areas as we travel our walk with Him.

Thank you for an answer. Just make sure something is super clear: nobody here believes that you are saved by works.

I am asking what YOU believe. Point blank for a clear answer. If you do not know, it’s fine to say so. But I am admittedly very frustrated by non-answering

When I want to seek God’s truth, I’ll ask Him search the scriptures. But for this conversation I am asking YOU what YOU believe. You alone can answer that question. Do YOU believe it is required for salvation to literally give everything away?

    ...

frankly, no. I’ve asked point blank questions, seeeking clear answers. You gave one, but then seemed to withdrawal it(?). So I re-asked for clarification and you are refusing to answer. It is the opposite of clear.

So YOU do or do not believe it is requirement to give everything literally away to be saved?
  8. J

    ...

Dev, I'm asking what YOU believe. I asked: You replied: If you misspoke, then please clarify what YOU believe.

    ...

I’m not persecuting you. But the fact that you don’t practice what YOU believe makes your entire argument hypocritical and mote.
  10. J

    ...

Again: I asked you what YOU believe. You don’t practice what you preach and according to your own theology are a damned hypocrite. It’s that simple.

    ...

I asked you about what YOU beleive. According to your theology, you are a damned hypocrite. Sorry, I have no patience for hypocrites.

    ...

You have a house. You have not sold it. You have other possessions that you have not sold. According to your own theology you have not followed Christ and are damned.
  13. J

    ...

Then you are damned hypocrite according to your own theology.

    ...

Dev, do you believe that it is required for a person to literally give away all of their possessions to be saved? Have you done that? A simple “yes” or “no” answer will suffice.

We've had this conversation many times: Satan can likewise cherry pick quotes to support his points. That doesn't equate to actual understanding. Your "anti-cult" stuff does not grant you understanding, and you are egotistically deceived if you think thus. Real seekers of truth go through...

Honestly I'm very frustrated here. You've only been stating strawman ideas (like "you got to perfect to be saved" or "you earn your way to heaven") and then stating you disagree with that- just the same as everyone else does. There is no division on such things. If you want to think you...

    ...

No. It is NOT about being perfect and then Christ saves you. It is NOT about earning your way to heaven. It is NOT about legalism. It is NOT about "here's my now I'm saved check box." Is is NOT evil or wrong to teach that a disciple of Christ should strive to follow Him. No. Please stop such...

LDS Christians aren’t Once Saved Always Saved. I make no apologies for that. If you wish for that theology, I recommend you join one of those Protestant groups.
  19. J

    ...

<Responding both to this and your later posts> Devin: NO one is saved because they kept the commandments. The end. All commandments are kept after a person comes to love Christ & have faith in Him. Striving to follow Christ is not legalism nor trying to "earn" salvation. Protestant...

Also, when doing interfaith dialogue, Protestants tend to divide a disciple of Christ’s walk into “salvation” and “sanctification”. LDS Christians don’t devide things this way, so that causes a lot of confusion in interfaith dialogue.
