LDS Christians believe 1 in God

Thought of the day-- I am grateful for God & the seasons of life. I recently got a new job & am excited for that season to start. And there have been many good things about this last season too, even though in the end it drove me crazy and forced me to leave. A season isn't supposed to last...

    What is Holy Spirit?

Speaking as a “Mormon”—- My purpose is life is a disciple of Christ. I show my love & devotion to Him. That’s what a person a makes an Christian. He is my Savior, no one else. Denominations are a important, but I’m not going to deny anyone’s love of God because of those lines. We are saved by...

Amen 100%!!! Discernment is so CRITICAL. Keeping that steady communication and study with God is so critical.

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

Today's thought-- Joseph Smith is not my Savior. Jesus Christ, the only Begotten Son of God, is my Savior. I am a Christian: a disciple of Christ. I follow Him due to testimony of Him. It is incorrect to say "Mormons follow Joseph Smith". Joseph Smith was a sinner, in desperate need of...

Christians are not under the New Covenant

Protestants aren’t the only ones that love Christ. That embrace Him as Lord and Savior. Whom dedicate their hearts, minds, and might to Him.

Christians are not under the New Covenant

As an actual “Mormon “ I’m going to disagree with you there, having lived my faith focused on God. But obviously you’re entitled to think whatever you want and I acknowledge that.

Christians are not under the New Covenant

I leave your disagreements on the Roman Catholic church to discuss with Roman Catholics. LDS Christians have a different view on things, as do JW, referencing those does not make sense while discussing Roman Catholicism.

Christians are not under the New Covenant

Post 1388, quoted below. My point was the I (or others LDS Christians) do not view ourselves / any institution as the only people receiving guidance from God.

Christians are not under the New Covenant

Agreed, however that's a different point than the one you were making earlier.

Christians are not under the New Covenant

Note from an actual "Mormon": members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 100% acknowledge that other folks are Christian too, have valid & important relationships with Christ, and will be spending eternity dancing around with Christ. It's actually a much more inclusive view...

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

The fact that they are three different persons is thoroughly established in the Bible itself, let alone reaching beyond that. Example, Christ’s baptism is not an demonstration of vantiliqosm, but rather three different persons doing different things. Christ doesn’t prey to Himself during the...

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

Thank you @Rita. The difference between discussion and debate is indeed the motivation. Discussion is motivated by “I want to listen and better understand your view”. Versus debate is “I want to inform you why I’m right” and has no interest in listening. @GEN2REV has openly stated that they...

Again: if you want to debate, then you can go start a thread in the debate section. I have requested very politely you not do so here. If you keep trying to derail my thread I’ll have report you.

Again: if you wish to debate, start your own thread in the debate section.

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

I started this thread explaining what LDS Christians, such as myself, believe about God. 1 God, 3 divine persons. John 17 being great illustration of this. This is not a debate thread. I’m not here to debate you or anyone else. If you wish to debate, you may start your own thread on the matter.

I reject the Creedal concept of the Trinity. I do not find it supported on scripture, see my earlier statements about “substance “. I acknowledge your view, and respect it as an extension as you. As for me, I see scripture teaching of three different persons, United as one God.

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

If you would like to ask me about my beliefs in Christ and listen to my answers, I welcome that. If you don’t care about what I actually believe and just want to tell me how I’m wrong, I politely (again) ask you to not waste anyone’s time by posting here.

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

I read John 17 and rest of the Bible, seeing how multiple persons can be one. One through unity of heart, will, goodness, grace, power, etc. The Father, Son, and Spirit are one that way. Note: I am not a Creedal Christian, and I reject the “the Trinity doesn’t make sense you’re just supposed to...

LDS Christians believe 1 in God

Random thought of the day— One of the things I rejoice so much about the Gospel/ God is His continuous love for me ( and everyone else too, but I’m talking about me for now). How He’s there for me when I stumble. How He listens to my silly rants about good times and frustrations. How He always...
