    Your Favourite Theodicy?

Dupe, sorry, I'm still learning to drive this interface. Best wishes, 2RM.

    Your Favourite Theodicy?

Well, I was merely pointing out the natural conclusion of assuming God controls all, good and evil, including our 'free' decisions. Best wishes, 2RM.

    Your Favourite Theodicy?

I'm a goat then, because there is no way at all I would countenance loving anyone or anything who demanded that love with the menaces of threat. Fortunately, my experience of God is that He is good, and loving good things needs no threat. Best wishes, 2RM.

    Your Favourite Theodicy?

I don't think I implied any such thing. One of my foundational beliefs is in human free will. Without which Judgment Day would be the kind of farcical show-trial so beloved of the autocrats and dictators of the world. One of the notions one needs to jettison, then, is the control of God, but...

    So, hey everyone!

Why thank you. It's good to know I haven't alienated everyone (yet)! Best wishes, 2RM.

    So, hey everyone!

I maybe ought to add that I believe the closest definition of God we (humanity) have yet to arrive at would be the philosopher's 'omnimax' God; omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omni-benevolent, to cite a few of the more important omni's God can claim. A confession, therefore, is due...

    Your Favourite Theodicy?

Hmmm. Do you really believe that a good God would deliberately create sentient creatures in order to torture them for all eternity? If so, that is a radical interpretation of the word 'good'! Best wishes, 2RM.

    Favourite Charities?

So, I'm always on the lookout for a good home for money. I'd be grateful for your tips. Meanwhile here are my current favourites: Deki (micro finance for the poor) Action Aid (safety and succour for girls and young women) Spana (veterinary services for working animals) Send a cow (vegetable...

    Your Favourite Theodicy?

Indeed. But I think He has given us a clue and a message. He doesn't seem all that keen on chaos, for example. I think we can't go too far wrong if we believers rely on logic and reason to construe His nature and His ways. Best wishes, 2RM.

    So, hey everyone!

I've been looking for a congenial Christian forum for some time. Recently, I've been having tussles with Mormons. That's fine; I like a good tussle, to get those little grey cells working. Unfortunately, they didn't see things quite the same way, and I have been frozen out. So here I am. I...

    Your Favourite Theodicy?

A theodicy is a line of argument that purports to explain why, If God is wholly good, there is so much evil in His world. My least favorite theodicy is that God is responsible for everything that's good, and Satan for everything that's bad. When God created His angels, being omniscient, He must...

    Some lines with attitude

Spare me, please, your pious cant; Your 'thou shalt not!', your moral rant, And let me live as I am made Wild and free and unafraid, Dreading naught of judgement day, Pilgrim on another way. If I'm wrong, I'll rot in Hell, But rotting there remember well The span I spent as but a ploy To spread...

    Via Dolorosa

Consenting to the cross I walked And as I went the people talked: ‘There he goes, the king of Jews’ ‘Not much the king, not good the news’ ‘A strong man needed, one who could Sort the Romans out for good.’ I do not know, I cannot tell If this act will weave the spell To reach from here to...
