    Freemasonry

I've been very upfront with how I've felt mis-treated by you Prayer Warrior.

    Freemasonry

Prayer Warrior, below is what I'm seeing. You can tell me where I'm getting things right or wrong. You've been told a bunch of false information about what "Mormons" believe and other "cultists". You've been told to focus on labels rather than actual individuals. You're willing to...

    Freemasonry

Are you unwilling to see and examine me the same way that you've examined others and labeled them "Christian"?
  4. J

    Freemasonry

    Why?
  5. J

    Freemasonry

I strive every day to look past any labels and instead see a person-- as I see you. Are you unwilling to even try to do the same?
  6. J

    Freemasonry

Examine me the same way then. Just as you would any other individual. Look beyond labels and what you "know" beforehand, and instead thoroughly examine and see.

    Freemasonry

I do not agree. Rather, I've felt treated like an object, ignored, and de-humanized. Like all you've labeled me as "un-saved cultist Mormon" and can't look past that. Do you likewise refuse to acknowledge people that share a literal pew with you as "I can't say you're a Christian" but readily...

    Freemasonry

I have not labeled you at all, I acknowledge you as a disciple of Christ, listen to your stories, strive to be accurate in my understanding of you. I celebrate with you on many things about Him and His words (such as the awesomeness that is the book of Matthew). I do disagree with you on some...

    Freemasonry

Do you look at people with labels? Am I still just an "cultist Mormon" in your eyes?
  10. J

    Freemasonry

Have you seen me use that label on you? If so, I will readily apologize. I strive practice what I preach: to avoid labels, and get to know people individually.
  11. J

    Freemasonry

I would encourage you to ditch ALL labeling and instead get to know people individually, as Christ does. And remember that He alone is the Judge.

This quote: Implies that there are multiple versions of Jesus created by different person's views of Him. That's simply not accurate. A person having an inaccurate understanding of Christ means that they have an inaccurate understanding of the one Christ. It doesn't mean there's two (or many...

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

The word "cult" is a slur and people use it for the same reasons they use every other slur. Which is not to say that a person cannot have reasonable objections to JW theology-- I certainly do, but the word "cult" is not helpful. Likewise a person can have objections to any other theology and...

    Freemasonry

There's only one Jesus, the Only Begotten Son of God. He's not defined by what a person thinks about Him (accurately or not).
  15. J

    Freemasonry

Christ knows each person individually. As his disciples, we should strive to do the same.
  16. J

    Freemasonry

Prayer Warrior, focus on Christ rather than gossip about others.
  17. J

    Freemasonry

A disciple of Christ would do much better focusing on how can the best follow Christ rather than what they think other folks might believe.

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

I totally agree. Which is why i live the way I do, and you do the way you do. Despite different intereprations of scripture/beliefs, we are both striving (completely imperfectly) to follow Christ.

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

I'm guessing that you meant this to be a diss, but it's really not. Like most other Christians groups, LDS Christians FIRMLY believe in the importance of having a high quality translation of scripture. Hence the LDS Christian codification stressing this: "as far as it is translated correctly"...

What Mormons Believe--according to a Former BYU Professor

Enoch111: the Bible uses plural language to describe God at points, such as Gen 1:26 and Gen 3:22. The Hebrew word "Elohim" is frequently plural. Me believing the Bible does not remotely make me "not a Christian".
