Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

@Laish the question of "what happens to those that have never heard of Jesus?" is one that is not point-blank answered in the Bible, and is a separate discussion from Calvinism. If I go down that road it will be majorly de-railing this thread. Let us keep this thread on topic. I have...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

How did God pave the way for the gift of salvation: through His power and sacrifice of His Son on the cross. What/how: God offers each person this gift salvation. He gives them the choice whether or not to accept this gift and the power to make their choice. God is not a slaver. I have...

    Soul and Spirit

This question is one that you'll get a LOT of different views on. It's not clearly laid out in scripture, and a lot of time people can be sloppy with their word choice (myself included). Answering my thoughts-- Your body is that fleshy thing you literally see with your eyes. Your spirit is...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Could we skip the attacking people and instead answer questions explaining your beliefs? Every question I've asked you has gone un-answered.

*bump, reminding @Laish about his promise here*

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Bill, you promised that you would answer my questions after I answered your 1 question, and that was many questions ago. I'm feeling like you're giving me the run around.

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Of course I'm talking about the Gospel-- it is God's truth! I have directly answered your questions several times now. Would you please do that which you promised many questions ago, and address my questions now.

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

The answer is in the very bold part you're quoting: He [God] gives them the choice. This is different than Calvinism where all are forced.

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

God testifies to every single person of His Truthfulness through His Spirit. He gives them the choice to accept or reject this gift of testimony & salvation. He does so because He loves every single person. God does not force anyone: God gives each man a choice. He is no slaver, nor a...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

I'd rather you answer the questions you said you were going to. (Sorry, I'm just not one for run-around. I answer things directly and appreciate when others do so as well)

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

I'm taking about God the Holy Spirit testifying of His Truths. Does He testify to every single man? Or does He skip some?

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Does God the Spirit testify of His Truth to every single man, woman, and child?

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

They are honest questions and foundational to this discussion. It is critical to directly address them.

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Going to stop you at the first foundational point (which then alters the course of the entire discussion)-- Does God testify of His truth to a man? Every single man, or just some? A hard-core Calvinist would say the answer is "just some". The rest were created for the purpose of eternal...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Answering my thoughts here-- Christ died for EVERY SINGLE person who has ever / will ever live on this earth. God loved the ENTIRE world and died for the ENTIRE world. He is no respecter of persons. He testifies to every single person and offers them His gift of salvation. He does not force...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

A non-Calvinist's objection to Calvinism isn't the fact that God knows everything before it'll happen-- that's completely agree upon. The point of disagreement is does God offer the gift to all? Does a person who goes to Hell go there 1) because he choose to reject God's gift of salvation, or...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

In my observation, I've noticed the trend of a "soft" Calvinist line-of-thought and a "hard" Calvinist one ("soft" and "hard" being in quotes because they're not great words here, I just can't think any better). A "hard" Calvinist has a hard core belief in TULIP: all men are naturally walking...

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

Again, according to Calvinists, the only reason a person is not saved (in a Calvinists eyes) is because God forced them to be thus. Lecturing a person for not being that depraved sinner God wants them to be (in Calvinists eyes) is downright silly.

Total adherence to Calvinism makes God the author of evil

My comment wasn't really meant as a joke. In Calvinism, God is the only being with free will, and hence any culpability. When "born a slave to sin" is interpreted to mean that a person literally lacks free will to accept God's gift of salvation, then God is the only person that has any...
