When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

@post If Jesus was saying nobody else could be good (even if God works in them), then how do you explain these verses or passages? “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

@post Jesus said in John 15:5, you can do nothing without me. Jesus is GOD. So nobody can do good without GOD or Jesus. This means GOD alone is good. But if a person plugs into GOD, they can do good but by the power of GOD working in them. Meaning, God gets the ultimate credit. But the...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Romans 3 is referring to how nobody is perfect their entire lives in the fact that even believers have sinned as a part of their old lives before coming to Christ. Paul says in Ephesians 2:2 of how we formerly walked according to the course of this world and the prince of the power of the air...

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling

So then you believe Philippians 2:12 is false in what it says? Sorry, you cannot re-write the Bible to your own way of thinking. What’s the point of that? You either believe all of the Bible in what it says or you don’t believe it. Obviously we walk with God. God does the good work through...

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling

But this type of thinking only makes sense in Conditional Salvation and not Unconditional Salvation. If things are Unconditional, then you can just party it up and not worry about entering the Kingdom.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

@post If Jesus was saying nobody else could be good (even if God works in them), then how do you explain these verses? Matthew 5:45 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on...

Speaking in tongues is NOT a gift

Out of love for a fellow believer, I don’t want to derail their thread. So I moved the thread discussion here and here (to answer both of your questions) out of courtesy to the poster of the OP. For his thread topic is not about these particular discussions.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

The problem is that you need to address the whole counsel of God’s Word instead of you just looking at isolated verses out of context to the rest of the Bible. Take 1 Peter 4:1-2, Galatians 5:24, and 2 Corinthians 7:1. How do they fit into your belief system on this issue or point? In post...

    What OSAS Rejects

Right, and He can live in us and help us to overcome sin. It’s why Galatians 5:24, 1 Peter 4:1-2, and 2 Corinthians 7:1 is also in your Bible. But when I mention these verses to Belief Alone Salvationists, they either go ignored or they try to change them to mean something else. Notice the...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” in Mark 10:18, did He mean that nobody could later be good? Important Note: I have an answer to this question, but I am merely asking publicly to see what other believers have to say (and not because I don’t have an answer). I am...

    What OSAS Rejects

One is either defending in doing sin or evil with God or one is not doing that. At the last day (the Judgment), I believe Scripture makes it clear that all who do evil are not going to make it into the Kingdom. Why? Because God is good.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling

I don’t agree with street preaching that comes across as hate only. Preaching the fear of God needs to be balanced with his love. But then there are those who wrongfully overstep God’s love to a point that it is abused to justify sin. That is what we are seeing in many churches today. Take...

    What OSAS Rejects

Sounds like freedom to sin to me. This means that believers are rewarded with Heaven early for doing evil. This is wrong. This is Hyper Grace. Most Baptists will disagree with you even. Most Baptists will say you cannot be a practicing murderer, rapist, etc. and still be saved. They will...

    What OSAS Rejects

If a person justices one sin under God’s grace it is turning God’s grace into a license to sin. You don’t have to justify lots of sin in order to turn God’s grace into a license for immorality.

    What OSAS Rejects

I said I quote: “Baptists tend to believe in OSAS.” You said, I quote: “…no real Baptist and no real Christian would be caught DEAD teaching the lie you just told., Bible Hightligher.” Source quote You seemed to care what baptists believe or think in this above quote. Did you forget about...

    What OSAS Rejects

First, most Baptist churches teach OSAS (but it’s not Hyper Grace as what your falsely thinking). Again, you don’t know what Hyper Grace is. Most Baptists believe in a term I call, “Partial Hyper Grace.” They appear they are for holy living but the justification of particular sins (or one...

    What OSAS Rejects

A while back you seemed to care what Baptists believed. Now your changing your tune? Okay.

    What OSAS Rejects

No. I am talking about your mislabeling of Baptists in what they actually believe. You say they don’t believe in OSAS. Most of them do. You can verify this by looking at their websites.

"Is There More Than one Gospel?...

I believe blind squirrels can even find a nut. But in all reality, I believe in the “Any Time Rapture or Catching up viewpoint” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) (1 Corinthians 15:51-53) and also a secondary event of the saints in the middle of the tribulation being gathered up by angels before the...
