Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

I've heard it said this way: for Christians, sin is the exception not the rule.

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

I've seen a lot of OSASers teach that, even if they're not saved by their good works, if they're not living in holiness, then they really should doubt whether they're saved in the first place, because the Spirit is supposed to be keeping them living in holiness until the end. This is...

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

"Abideth in Him"--but "little children" are often led away from abiding in Him by idolatry (1 Jn 2:28, 5:21), which is why it can be said "there is no condemnation" for those "in Christ", and yet that the Christian who does not walk by faith can be condemned--they're not abiding in Him by...

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

Romans 6:14 tells the Jewish Christians in the Roman Church "Sin will not make you its slave (will not master you) because you are not under Law but under Grace", and Romans 7 is an illustration of just that--of the Jew ("in the flesh" (Ro 7:5)--Christians are "not in the flesh" (Ro 8:9)) under...

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

Yeah but they're not all the same. That's why I'm saying I don't judge based solely on doctrine. For instance, John Piper, who is OSAS, said he received a grace whereby he was kept from being attracted to any woman other than his wife after he married. That's holiness by grace!

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

It's because they don't know how to read Romans 7. They claim Romans 7 is the life of Paul as a Christian--completely conquered by sin, and incapable of keeping God's Law (though he immediately after says he keeps God's Law (Ro 8:4)), and at the end, he says, "with my mind I serve the Law of...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

"Boy", you also deny people who are explicitly said to have faith actually have faith.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Yet, "if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light we have fellowship one with another and the blood of His Son cleanses us of all our sins"--obviously, it refers to continuing in sin, as the Gnostic heretics had taught, and does not mean "Christians don't sin". Yet, some do not abide...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

No, it's not "a rule of thumb", as you mean it, because men sin all of the time, yet it was only then that the men who engaged in the particular act would be "blotted out". Surely their other sins had not escaped God's notice, any single one of which would (on your view) have resulted in their...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

The same people told "you stand by your faith" are also told "if you disbelieve you too will be cut off".

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

There's no other way to go about it. I wish all the other interactions on this thread were more like this interaction--instead, there has inevitably been a devolution into feces-tossing.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I haven't thought about it--haven't had to (I've had other questions).

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Moses never said "every man on earth is in the book", only that he was in it.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

When God says "No Mercy" and "Not My People" (Hos 1), it is clear that the status of "God's people" is that people to which God is merciful. That is why they are in His Book.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

As stated, the Book is not mentioned except with regard to His people Demonstrate that all souls are in the Book. I categorically deny that.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

David said "in sin I was conceived", so all men would arrive on earth not in the book. There would be no later time in their lives when they would be removed. Again you're not reading it in context.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

God isn't saying "anyone on earth who has committed any sin against Me is going to be blotted out of My Book"; God's statement regards, in context, the incident that had just occurred with His people. Moses' request is against the intentions of God regarding the sin His people had just committed.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

No, if that's case, if you believe me are born spiritually dead, no one would be in the book as a "default".

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I understand how you read it--I disagree.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Just as Moses said to blot his name out, Paul said he wished he could be accursed--the meaning being blotted out is being accursed, cut off from God.
