I have noticed the following Negatives about the 'rapture'...

This is so TRUE! Only the human body of Christ ceased to have life, but the spirit (breath of life) that all humans have ascended to the Father in heaven. Then three days later Christ's spirit returned to His body of flesh and His body was then raised immortal. This is important to understand...

    The Resurrection is Bodily

This shows very good understanding of the parable, and my saying "story" doesn't deny that. I really cannot disagree with anything you've said here. But I'm wondering how your understanding of the parable, you explain very well, gives me any insight into how you differentiate between the...

Our souls apart from our bodies

Did or does not Christ say, "whoever lives and believes in Him shall never die"??? Remember Christ said this after knowing Lazarus had physically died. Even though Lazarus was dead, Christ gave us assurance that he would live because the life we have in Christ is eternal. Clearly Christ is not...

Our souls apart from our bodies

And I can say the same to you. You can believe Christ but first you must know what He taught, not what JW's and their NWT have falsely taught you is truth. Yes, the body returns to dust from which it was created, BUT the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecc 12:7). The question we must each...

Our souls apart from our bodies

I prefer to use a translation of Holy Writ that has already withstood the test of time. John 11:21-27 (KJV) Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

In that we can agree! I too am happy to be finished with this discussion with you. Your arguments in this discussion are repeatedly based on 1Cor 15, and you making the same assumptions again and again. You brought not supporting verses to prove the assumptions you made, and I did. It's fine...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

    Another assumption on your part!

I have noticed the following Negatives about the 'rapture'...

What point are you trying to make? When we quote the whole verse, we find "he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin". Although He was made sin for us, He still knew no sin. That means as David said, Christ remained sinless. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him to be...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

But you seem not to believe that physical death does not equate to death of our spirit. Premills don't believe Satan has been bound, nor do they believe we ascend to heaven spiritually alive when our body becomes a corpse when we die in Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:16 (KJV) What? know ye not that...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

The only enemy not destroyed through the advent of Christ coming to earth a man, is physical death. Scripture shows us that Satan, sin and death have been, not shall be, defeated by Christ's sinless human life, His sacrificial atoning death, and His glorious resurrection. When He comes again...

For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return

How do you distinguish between the dead, and the living? What does Christ mean when He says, "whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall NEVER die"? John 11:26 (KJV) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Every human is destined to physical death...

For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return

Since you disagree about when and how we partake of the first resurrection in life, would you mind giving me your understanding of the words of Christ from Jo 5:24-29? You seem to understand the bodily resurrection that shall come in an hour coming, when the last trumpet sounds and time shall...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

You're not taking into account what Paul said before this. Paul writes that since Christ has risen from the dead those who had already fallen asleep in Him have not perished. But are in fact of His resurrection (the first resurrection) through Him. He writes that Christ is the firstfruits of...

Our souls apart from our bodies

If this were true, we should not believe the words of Christ when He said, "whosoever lives and believes in me, shall NEVER die". Our body having life through the spirit in them is a complete living soul. Our body dies and is sown in the earth a corpse. But the spirit giving life to every man...

I have noticed the following Negatives about the 'rapture'...

Ok, I get what you're saying, and I don't disagree with it. I'm thinking that the physical body of Christ, like all human beings must have both natural body of flesh and a natural spirit like all mankind to be fully human. But I think you're right because I agree that He always existed via...

I have noticed the following Negatives about the 'rapture'...

To be fully human Christ would be born with a body and a spirit to give His body physical life which would make Him a living soul like every other human being. That which is unique to Christ alone was being conceived by the Holy Spirit, which none others are, and that IMO makes Him also fully God.

For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return

You had my attention, and mostly agreement until this! You've given a sound accounting for what becomes of man's flesh & bones after death. There is no more hope for obtaining eternal spiritual life through Christ after our body breathes its last. Our body then is a mere corpse in silence and...

I have noticed the following Negatives about the 'rapture'...

Flesh & blood, nor mortal, corruptible man can inherit the Kingdom of God in heaven or the new earth, is probably the way I should have phrased it. Christ though flesh & blood entered both the earth and heaven physically as you have shown. That was so that we might believe that our spirit...

Our souls apart from our bodies

I would say it slightly different. That which is called a soul, is a soul wherever there is LIFE. It can be physical life or life of our spirit, nonetheless where there is life we are called living souls.

Our souls apart from our bodies

But the spirit in man does survive the death of our body IF we have the Holy Spirit in us. The spirit returns to God with life after our body dies as "living soul" IF we died in Christ and possess His Spirit in us. All spirits return to God who gave them after our body dies, but only the...
