Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

@mailmandan Irrespective our disagreements, your view's emphasis on God's faithfulness and righteousness is edifying, and is either a or the correct way of viewing things.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I think I would agree with the idea that the method whereby we remain in Christ (in part, by "loving one another"--the second table of the Law of Faith) would be by "walking in our new nature"--as long as that isn't construed as being mutually exclusive with the idea that we "put off the old...

That's already been explained multiple times.

    Answered Prayer

I had so many seemingly unanswerable questions that I had given my all to answer, with fasting, and I could never answer them, but as soon as I started bringing them to God, the answers started being dropped from heaven. So easy. Now I see that I don't have to struggle--it doesn't accomplish...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

You think God will continue supplying His Spirit to people who don't abide in Christ but commit immorality and wrong their brothers? You know I'm telling God's Truth.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I can't recommend taking Scriptural (and otherwise) difficulties to God enough--I studied the Bible in a focused way for many years, and I was left broken by my complete inability to reconcile some of the Scriptures with some of the other Scriptures. I couldn't make them say something coherent...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I agree that there is a right and a wrong way to apply the Scriptures I've shared, but there is no question that what I have said is both in the Bible and correctly reconciled here. I will never veer from what is written and go to a tradition that may be beneficial but cannot let me rest due to...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Nope, when someone falls away in an irretrievable manner (some aren't irretrievable, some are--eg, the Heb 6 believers VS the audience Hebrews is written to, "we are persuaded of better things concerning you though we speak this way"), God forgets their righteousness (Ez 3:20), so it is as...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I can't recommend bringing your difficulties with Scripture to God enough. All I ever found were questions. It took prayer to get answers.

It makes God exceedingly kind and smart that He still satisfied justice while championing mercy at the same time.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Let's not get off topic ("smart"). I believe Scripture, that's all. I didn't think Christ bearing sin and wrath was controversial.

    Idk what point I'm "missing".

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

All the OT sacrifices prefigured Christ. The priests would place the sins of the people onto them. Christ is called a "guilt offering" in Isaiah 53 and it says He bore our sins. Don't know how much clearer it could be stated.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Isaiah 53. He bore our sins.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

God would pour out His wrath on Christ, bc that was where our sins were.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Physical death isn't the "wrath" living men are under, the wrath they're under is at least in part spiritual death. When men believe they pass from death to life--if not they REMAIN under God's wrath, spiritually dead.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

These are not mutually exclusive. Jesus paid for non-eternal/forgivable sins. Anyone who wants can go to the wedding party, but anyone who doesn't won't enjoy the food.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Why not if our sins were on Him--and "the wrath of God is revealed from heaven on all the unrighteousness of men" (Ro 1:18)? What has happened that men pass from death to life, and are no longer abiding under God's wrath when they're in Christ--no longer dead in sin--when they're "in Christ"...
