OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Yeah, that's on verse. Over and over again in scripture in tells us to pray without ceasing, to continue in the ways of the Lord, etc. This isn't a one-time-done-gig. Just for one example: I've seen many OSAS Christians who answer alter calls repeatedly, concerned that they didn't "do it...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Amen to that! Hence my many hours of study and prayer on all of these subjects. (Ok, that's not the only reason I study/pray, I also just enjoy it a lot). Nonsense. Just like saying "anyone who lived before Paul is lost" is a nonsensical statement. None of those men are the Savior. Christ...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Just explaining my beliefs, hence the title of the thread :) If you believe differently, I 100% respect that and your right to do so.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Heb, from my perspective, it's not my house on the sand. Rather it's Calvin's and his doctrines. Your quoting these verses and not actually addressing my points is actually further confirming that view. Again, if you believe OSAS I respect your right/choice in that matter. But please stop...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Metaphors of the regret. Not a literal barbecue.

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

No, rather it's a another testimony and antlers witness of the Good News: that Christ, the Savior Son of God, has come, suffered for our sins, died, and rose again. And He is the way for our redemption. I love these scriptures. Galatians 1 (the whole chapter) is actually a key part of the...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

I actually talked specifically about those verses earlier (post 145)

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

OK, so I you leave me no choice but to be rude: Upon EXTREMELY through study of scripture, prayer, different doctrine, different religious texts (including Calvin's works and pro-OSAS), and examining the fruits of different beliefs, I have come to the conclusion that Calvin was a false teacher...

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Do I need to be rude here, or can you respectfully acknowledge a belief different than your and quit trying to "plant seeds"?

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Those ideas are found in Calvin's writings. But I do not find them in the Bible.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

None of those teach OSAS. Rather, they are all in present tense. Example: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" It's not believe once. Rather, about present belief. It's not about remove the...

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

I do accept and believe the scripture. I do NOT accept OSAS because it contradicts this very scripture (and others). And frankly, that views not going to change.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

If you don't want to discuss things further, you can indicate so politely. That's perfectly ok.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

And again, feel like you're ignoring my points here.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

I have said no such thing nor do I believe such a thing. I acknowledge that OSAS is a belief wherein a person's ability to choose to stay with God is removed-- something you yourself acknowledged. I have also said repeated how I do not believe in OSAS because God is NOT a jailer.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

With all due respect Heb, I feel like you're ignoring my points here.
  17. J

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Present tense beleivers. Those that choose to believe and stay with Christ- those that are free. Nothing about that choice being removed or Stockholm syndrome. Nothing about "no true Scotsman" of "they weren't really saved" when someone falls away.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

I do believe 1 Jhn 5:9-14. It doesn't teach OSAS and that idea I soundly reject.
  19. J

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Again: you're playing "no true Scotsman", and ignoring that OSAS denies a person freedom to leave.
