OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

On that, I'm going to respectfully disagree with you. Christ comes first when we continually give ourselves to Christ. Every single day renew our pledge, renew our love --- just as He continually does with us. OSAS... I find that it minimizes that love and devotion, ironically making the...

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

The problem with OSAS and predestination is that it negates need for a person to truly accept Christ-- a love that's freely and continually given. It cheapens the relationship between Christ and individuals.

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

The LDS view remotely universalism. LDS do indeed believe that Christ is the the Savior of all, and all mankind will be resurrected because of Him. All individuals also have the opportunity to accept Him. Those that fully do shall live forever fully with God. Those that reject Him don't and...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

I'm not a universalist at all. I don't think anyone here is.

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Agreed with everything you said here. I was just pointing out that the flesh is week and doesn't always go Superman strong overnight.

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

A little clarification on what I mean by "interfaith nerd": I mean I enjoy studying other faiths. Just like some people enjoy studying football or airplanes or history, I enjoy studying other faiths. I love to hear other people proclaim their love of God, and greatly enjoy talking to them...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

(This was on my list of "post I need to reply to" but didn't get around to for a while and the thread it was on went elsewhere. So I brought it over here to reply to). Amen!!! Hi @justbyfaith :) I'm an interfaith nerd who loves hearing what different people believe and think, so yes I am...

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

How are you defining "sanctification" for this? For my view: we all have human weaknesses. Take for example, "Bob" who habitually lies, because he's are afraid what other people will think. Lying is a sin, but when Bob accepts Christ all of his previous sins are washed away. But Bob still...

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Hence why I say that salvation is a continual process :)

    Why Baptize a Baby?

BOL, you're personal tactics here are... frankly horrible. I don't hold you behavior against the Catholic Church- I know too many good Catholics and people to do that. I'm huge on respecting other faiths. But I will not continue to engage in discussion with you when I am continually attack...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

FWIW: As a person who visits a lot of different Church, I've met many Catholics who were real disciples of Christ. I'm not denying that I've also met thugs that sat on Catholic pews. But I'm also met a few thugs on about every other group's pews too.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Taking things different doesn't mean it's any less serious. Please show non-catholics the same respect you wish Catholics to be shown. And please stop the blatant personal attacks. If you would like to respectfully ask about my time studying Catholicism, you may. But if you're just wanting...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Ok. My focus was more on just correcting BOL's comment. Blatantly ignorance comments are... *Jane can't say anything nice here, so I'm going to not say anything*

    Why Baptize a Baby?

I just explained this to you. Old Covenant was about genetics. You entered in simply because you were born into this family. Had nothing to do with belief. New Covenant was about belief. You enter in because of belief and a (metaphorically) circumsized heart. This is available to all...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Most Protestants sects and JW and LDS and many other sects baptize believers as the accept Christ. It's not to do with the Original Sin and is not something done without the person desiring it. The understanding/reasoning is fundamentally different than Catholic beliefs. And unless you have...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

I FINALLY got the time to adequately address this! For starters, thank you for sharing you views and fantastic heart touching story. It really provided some much needed brightness to my overwhelmed day. As for my views (relating with terminology you're using), the "Servants of God" is the...

    Why Baptize a Baby?

Non-Catholics don't view membership in a church or baptism the same way Catholics do. The very foundational things of like "why we do this" are different.

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Not really. When a sin is washed away it is like taking a physical bath: you're clean. Doesn't mean you're not ever to get muddy again and need a bath again.

    Why Baptize a Baby?

FYI: that is not remotely accurate as to how LDS or JW view baptism.

Salvation is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Cool, thanks for explaining your beliefs :) My belief is salvation is a process. A person is continually saved-- continually washed clean of the filth we get on ourselves, and continually refined in the fire to be more like Him.
