What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

One of the (many) reasons I dislike online proselytizing on forums is because it's very driven stereotypes, and not by real love & seeing that person. To often I've seen the following scenario happen: Bob hears Mike is group X and Bob immediately seeks to 'rescue' the X-er because Bob 'knows'...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

I appreciate the sentiment @larry2 , but your post here is sounding very much like a proselytizing attempt. I said in the very first post here, I zero intrest in proselytizing (receiving or giving), so why I appreciate the sentiment, I am going to decline the invitation to be proselytized at.

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Hi @larry2! Galatians 1 is one of my (many) favorite and faith-affirming chapters of scripture. I really love the emphasis on going first and foremost to God for Truth-- totally moving there. If you'd like to hear more about my love of Christ or about a specific passage, I'm happy to chat...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Cool. If you're meeting with missionaries, their default assumption is that you have a Christian background (and if you say you do, then it's not much of an assumption :) ). Therefore, they (being teachers) are going to spend less time on teaching "there was this baby born in Bethlehem"...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Some good memories from visiting other churches (cause this is huge passion of mine) -- The most beautiful church building in town is the historic Episcopalian cathedral. Last Christmas there was a huge interfaith caroling time there, and I happily devoted my Friday night to it. The event was...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

One example of prayer-- When I was ~6 six years old, I was going through a really rough time in life. I was bogged down in the difficulties of life and in pain this existence can bring. I also felt weighed down for my own shortcomings- that I couldn’t do this or that, that I wasn’t good...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

(Actually talking about beliefs) I believe in Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and King. The Son of God, who created this world, and without whom we’re all doom. I think of Him everyday—He is the core of who I am. I am Christ’s disciple. I attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day...

What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ

Hi, So I’m being highly distractible at work today, and was wandering around old threads. And there are a LOT of misconceptions about what I and other member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (nicknamed “Mormons”) believe. So am going to just say what I believe. This is...

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

Going to repeat this one last time: Dave, you are a sinner. I am a sinner. Mother Teresa was a sinner. The Creed writers were sinners. Besides Christ, every person that's walked the face of this Earth is a sinner. We do not belong in the throne of God. I see your love of placing sinners...

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

All men are sinners (save Christ). The Creed writers were men, and therefore sinners.

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

Because they were not Christ Himself. Nor did the Creed writers even make the claims of being God's mouthpieces (prophets/apostles/etc). Again, your idolizing of these sinners strikes me as a major violation of the First Great Commandment, and I have no desire to have this conversation...

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

Dave, I do not worship sinners. And I'm not going to be berated for that.

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

Ah, I misunderstood. Thank you for clarifying. *thumbs up*

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

Dave, we've had this conversation before, and it left me with the very distinct (and disturbing) impression that you worship the sinners who wrote the Creeds more than God. I am not God, and I'm not going to judge you. Still, in the spirit of charity & sanity, have no desire to repeat such a...

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

Truth is from God's words. Not men's.

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

I likewise have no problem with that. But the "Trinity" doctrine involves much more than that: specifying how the three-are-one. Throughout the years I've met folks with a dozen other different ideas on how the three-are-one (such as the one you described) but they are not Trinitarians because...

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

A big picture aside here: These type of discussions are certainly useful in understanding the deeper levels of what each of us believe, why we believe it, and the limitations of each of our knowledge/understanding. We each have different limitations and different understandings. But in the big...

Proof of the Trinity. No takers?

That doesn't make any sense in regard to what the Bible says, or what the Athanasian Creed says.

    Ears to Hear

"If any man have ears to hear, let him hear." is essentially, "individuals who have ears and are willing to actually use them, listen up". As opposed to stiff-necked individuals who metaphorically stick wax in their ears and aren't willing to listen.

Also @justbyfaith , I do thank you for your charitable and Christ-like composure on this thread.
