    2 Spirit Baptisms?

Don't you have an excellent answer to the OP?

My theory about the "Word" in John 1:1

Since the majority is headed down the broad path that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14), I am perfectly content to take the narrow path; and also to be considered "narrow-minded". I have made it my aim to reconcile apparent contradictions in the Bible...and I have never seen one that I...

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

In Genesis 15:6, Abraham is justified when he simply believes God...long before he ever (almost) sacrificed his son on the altar. There are no works attached to Abraham's faith in Genesis 15:6... God declares him righteous simply because he believes God; in the very moment that he believes...

The False Doctrine with key word "COVER"

It is exactly what is taught by the holy scriptures. Just read all of Romans chapter 4. It is simply the gospel of Jesus Christ that He was punished for and took the penalty for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

My theory about the "Word" in John 1:1

If anyone is truly a believer, they hold that all scripture is inspired of the Lord and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). I know that those who are born again will agree with this assessment.

My theory about the "Word" in John 1:1

Your position classifies you as being not a Christian. You are being dishonest therefore to make that your designated faith on these boards.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!

Of course....your point? No, the works done by people after being saved are not meritorious towards salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Romans 4:5-6, and Romans 11:5-6 all make it clear that works do not stand as meritorious towards salvation.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!

No, I "allege" that Jesus said that to everyone who is born again of the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:3-4, Hebrews 11:33, 2 Corinthians 1:20, Romans 4:20-22. I'm saying that this is inevitable...everyone interprets things through the filter of their own mind...you cannot change that. So if that...

Most of Us Believe That Jesus is the Son of God

Cain was a human being who was deceived by the devil; not the devil himself. God told Cain that sin was lying at the door; and that its desire was for him; but he must master it.

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

I will only say that what we don't do does not qualify as works...works are specifically what we do. No; a man is justified before God by grace through faith apart from works (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Romans 4:5-6, Romans 11:5-6). What James is talking about is justification before man...

Going to get some rest. Will resume the conversation in the morning.

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

Nope. It is the behaviour that results out of the fruit of the Spirit in a man's life.

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

What exactly do you do, to make your calling and election sure?

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

However, I would not call any of the behaviours that you mentioned "works".

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

You don't think there will be any unbelievers who crawl in off the web who will come in and see our posts? I try to make sure that I stay accurate and also keep the facts straight in any given situation for the sake of those who don't know and also in order that those who do know may not be led...

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). We are justified before the Lord through our faith apart from works and justified before man by our works. God sees a man's faith invisibly even though he may not have any works to show for his faith. God...

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

I want to be clear that we cannot be forgiven of our sins through the accomplishing of any good work. But that the one who is forgiven much will love much (Luke 7:36-50, 1 John 4:19, Romans 5:5); and will therefore do many good works if given the opportunity. But if one does not know that they...

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

The thief actually did curse Jesus before he was converted...but I know that this is a moot point; yet I thought I would make the correction for the sake of being factual. The fruit of the Spirit is not the same thing as works done in order to save one's self. For one thing, the fruit of the...

The Eternal Security Heresy: A Comprehensive Refutation of OSAS

I would just point out that you have now said that there is an instance where someone who does not have works, but has faith, will enter the kingdom. I agree that genuine faith will apprehend the love of the Lord (Galatians 3:14, Romans 5:5) and that such a love is practical (1 John 3:17-18)...
