I would say the temptation of Jesus was a very special case. The Bible indicates that Christian temptation can be self-induced (James 1:13-14).

"Demon" is typically defined as a fallen angel, but Satan (a.k.a. the Devil) is not an angel, rather he is a Cherub (Ezekiel 28:14).

That is temptation of Jesus, the question is how demons (not Satan) tempt believers.

God created the universe from nothing but Himself. The idea that anything in it occurs beyond His direction (including my choices) seems incorrect to me.
