When exactly do you become a Christian?

You simply wrote too much, but I would like to pursue this subject with someONE. Not with a number of takers, but if you're interested in a bite at a time. Enough views were presented initially to consider this as an unexpected elephant...to me.. I've never really even thought of this topic...

When exactly do you become a Christian?

Thank you for picking up on that comment. Long ago I stumbled on that verse in Galatians. It became part of a more expanded understanding of SALVATION. Simply, I and many others believe that we are triune beings and we need salvation in all three parts of our being. The first salvation begins...

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

I'm truly sorry that you do not have eyes to see, and ears to hear. I know from 21 years of ROMAN indoctrination just how you think and see. Nor have you. And not just to me, but so many others here. Says 'the kettle sg. to a ALL the POTS pl. here'??? :woot: This is the APOLOGETICS forum...

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

No, you're saying that. I did not. I tell every pastor of every indoctrinated church in town the same thing. "The church that Jesus is building, is the spiritual one, that's under the roof of every 'so called' church building, in town." And 'that church' is those few whose foundation is...

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

My opinion is; 'The church' began 2,000 years ago, on the day of Pentecost. The Roman church began to influence the Church of the entire world before the apostles even died. That's what the apostle John was speaking prophetically about in his 1st letter. 1JO 2:18 Little children (babes in...

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

Actually, I agree with you. I'm forgetting which thread I'm in. The last text was meant for the other thread, and I will see if I can delete the Meaningless post.

When exactly do you become a Christian?

If being born again defined being "Christian", why weren't the Apostles and disciples of Israel called such for 40 years? Agreed, the bible says none of these things. Correct that's what "scripture" says. What's missing here? Uh, the word CHRISTIAN. This "test" is your OPINION, but not...

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

I know the sad story. I was raised RC, but never got 'born again' until I was 22. But I'll guarantee you that if I'd died in Viet Nam, I would have been pronounced "going to heaven" just because I got sprinkled as an unbelieving infant. hmn

When exactly do you become a Christian?

You ask a very provocative question. I just had to smile at every one's comment to your comment based on 'BEING A CHRISTIAN'. But then, I'm pretty "analytical mentally" too. lfh So hang in there a bit....or.:r.u.n: My first thought after reading this thread, was from a book I bought years...

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

OSAS BUFFOONERY??? What got saved when you got born again? Was it your 'spirit'? Was it your 'soul'? Or was it your 'body'?

John 6 Was Jesus speaking literally

It "limps" because there is too much fundaMENTALism and not enough fundaSPIRITUALism. JOH 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the TRUE/alethinos bread from heaven. 0228 alethinos: truthful I...

Is God Magnanimous? - (as opposed to tyrannical)

I don't think anyone can even be anti christ until AFTER they came to know something about 'the christ' while they were members IN THE CHURCH setting. Written 70AD 1JO 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many...

Is God Magnanimous? - (as opposed to tyrannical)

I have a "hard no" for an 'adios hell'. Which can not be found in scripture. And that Greek word actually fits the English definition of eternity And a "softer yes" for an 'aion/aionios hell'. Two Greek words and one English word, which also can not be found in a verse of scripture. :woohoo!:

Where did Christian Universalism come from? - New or old?

EPH 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Unless you are PERFECT and sin not. Then YOU are a son of disobedience when you sin. If Jesus says "do not sin" and you do sin, then you just said NO...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

Your posts present so many questions to be answered; People won't read that much and it takes me too long to type all this. "life to life" is also "deep calling to deep".....or spirit to spirit....IMO. :Hnds It fits into my thoughts, under my category of 'verbalize the unwritten truth of...

Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

I'll give you a taste of where Carl is coming from, concerning a few of us. CRAZIMATICS If you are referring to a RHEMA "Word" spoken from the "True Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ"... I couldn't agree more. :woohoo!: But if that "Word" you reference above, is talking about 'the bible', then I have...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

The "tone" as you put , is key in discerning when "you do not know what spirit you are of" comes in to play. And you are playing :hmhehm well, brother Carl. I still remember the days of LIVING in the Jesus movement. We....me anyway, had heard a 'saying' back then that still resonates as...

I'm going to say, in OUR bibles, I bet WE BOTH have a lot of highlights in Paul's prison epistles. :shine:

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

I believe in the 'Gr RHEMA "word" that was written into my heart by the holy spirit of Christ in me. I am a living epistle. 2Co 3:1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? :2 You yourselves are our letter of...
