The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

I'm not ignorant of that nor faced with any problem at all. No one said John's baptism was eternal or meant to be, no different than the jews yearly anointmeant. That's why the Ephesians had to be re-baptized into Christ for the remission of sins; in the name of Jesus Christ, by the authority of...

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

It's not water? Why, because you say so cuz you don't want it to be? What is it then? It ain't spirit! Maybe kool-aid? Once again, you don't know what you're talking about. The entire history going back to John's baptisms has been water. The baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, right...

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

We all who are/were baptized into Christ receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, the Spirit itself not spiritual gifts from from the Spirit Acts 2:38 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive...

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

Baptism comes after belief by obedience to the gospel, which leads to salvation. And the manifestation of the Spirit was the result of the laying on of the apostle's hands which all gifts were the result of.

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

You know, baptism accomplishes more than just the remission of sins. By baptism you're also added to the body of Christ, the church. It's the only way to become a member of the body of Christ, by being baptized into Christ. Romans 6:3-11 3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into...

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

But that happened. As i stated before starting with John, to Jesus promise to the 11 (them not us) in Luke 24:49, which was fulfilled in Acts 2 upon the 11 apostles upon which the Holy Ghost fell and they spoke in other tongues. That power from on high (Luke 24:49) bestowed upon THEM, enabled...

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

Some translations do get it right though. I like the kjv, but I don't rely solely on it. How'd the kjv get Easter so wrong? Don't know, but they did. It ain't Easter as only the kjv translates pascha (passover) as. How? Bias. And God doesn't do any baptizing, which "by the Spirit" infers. Man...

    Salvation:A doctrinal dilemma

There are no conflicts. All are right and all are necessary. It's man that goes out of his way to try to make the scriptures agree with man's preconceived notions, thus confusing things, and hence you have division. We're on the same page.

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

Yes, Ephesians is right. ONE Baptism. And in one Spirit, per the original Greek, is different than by one Spirit. We're baptized INto Christ and are united with him thereby. There is no other way to become part of the body of Christ other than by baptism into it.

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

I'll let the scriptures do the teaching and speaking. Follow them closely as I've stated as regarding the baptism of the Holy Ghost, from John the Baptist, to Jesus in in Luke 24:49, to Acts 2.

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

Here's 1 Peter 3:21 (I'll let the scripture speak for itself) 21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Yes, belief is first as you cited...

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

So, Ephesians is wrong? And the correct translation is "in one Spirit", not "by one Spirit", according to the original Greek.

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

How is one baptized with the Holy Spirit according to scripture? What is the process? Where are the biblical examples and where does it say what we must to to be "baptized with the Holy Spirit"? Does it just happen all of a sudden for no reason and when? Does it somehow magically happen to...

    Salvation:A doctrinal dilemma

I have none. I simply follow the words, ALL OF THEM, to where they ALL, lead and believe accordingly, letting the word lead me in lieu of trying to mold the bible around my preconceived beliefs. Goodbye

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

It most certainly is water which is why it was compared with the flood incident. Pretty clear. And you're not at all understanding the baptism of the Holy Ghost you mentioned. That happened (happened then, not now) and started with the 11 apostles on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, as foretold...

    Salvation:A doctrinal dilemma

Great! You've clarified what you believe, which is an illogical conclusion scripturally IMO, but that's your problem.

The Baptism That Saves: What Most People Miss in Acts 11:16

You've basically agreed inadvertently. No one says belief doesn't preceed baptism. Its obvious that it does and must; so that simply says belief is part of the equation. Belief 1st and foremost. And regardless what 1st Peter continues to say, which is simply the logic, but the logic doesn't...
