Which decade were you born in?

Watch out! They are trying to smoke out all the Old Farts!

Which decade were you born in?

Perhaps it does not apply in the internet age, but in my experience until someone gets through their mid-life crisis they are not as concerned about eternity and God. I had those strong feelings when I was in my early 20's, but most of who would engage and talk about spiritual things were in...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Sorry Renniks, you are not following the argument; I do not care what anything "sounds like," I am looking for confirmation on an assertion that the Atonement is a "payment for sins." People latch onto such fictions to justify all kinds of unbiblical "theology." As witnessed, they do not care...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Obviously, you have a theory, and if God does not agree, you really do not care. Why is this fiction so important to you? 1). Why is it that the Bible never says (your dogmatic assertion) that the Atonement is a "payment for sins"? 2). If such a payment exists, who does the Bible say was...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Not Predestined to salvation! "Us," the Church, the Body of Christ are Predestined to be adopted as sons and daughters, and be conformed to His image! Who and when will we be adopted? "Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Predestination is a Biblical term; that is not used one time to indicate the predestination of a single individual to either Heaven or Hell! To say otherwise is Satanic! :)

    Saved Or Predestined ???

You do so much to try to prove the Western Criminal justice system which has NOTHING to do with the Bible and Atonement. Even as you do that, you apply things that do not exist and are even self-contradictory to the Western justice system. You cannot answer why the Bible never says anything...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

One day I will die, and that will pay for my sins... nonsense. Who was "paid"? what does the Bible say? Surely, if paying for sins is in the Bible, it would tell us who was paid! No competent translator of the Bible has translated "It is finished!" to be "Paid in Full!" The first so-called...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

There was a sailor that every time he got liberty, he got excessively drunk, fought in bars, and spent all he had left on his money on prostitutes... he said that he was having a great time! One day, God approached him and laid salvation in his hands; He even gave the sailor the enlightenment...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Then who's "sin was paid for" on the Cross? When was it "Paid For"? Who was "Paid"? Can God demand a double payment? Meaning... when Jesus "paid for our sins" 2000 years ago, and "paid for the sins" of the whole world, if everyone is not saved, then where in Scripture does it say that God...

entire sanctification is an obtainable goal.

Why would you believe in something that is not in the Bible?
  16. Candidus

entire sanctification is an obtainable goal.

Salvation, or "getting saved" is a long process. Which will end in the final result. Or glorification. Is that true? If being made holy is a "long process" when Scripture in this rare instance uses a present tense, what are we to make of faith and belief and the New-Birth which are almost...

entire sanctification is an obtainable goal.

Basing it on failure is a losing proposition. It's best to start with Scripture to test what we experience, instead of using our experience to interpret Scripture.
  18. Candidus

entire sanctification is an obtainable goal.

Keep in mind, the man in Romans 7 moved onto Chapter 8. Those that appeal to this for "Christian" sinning need to do the same.
  19. Candidus

entire sanctification is an obtainable goal.

That is a rationalization. It literally says, ""Whosoever is born of God doth not [present tense] commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." 1 Jn. 3:9. The verse prior has the present tense for "commits" sin. This is contrasted with "doing...
